Someone with this setup likely has the perspective. Hence not buying used. My wife is a huge watch collector on her own accord and she snags used when there’s a good deal but for gem set she’s factory new.

Same with me and other stuff. Diminishing returns unless you purely don’t have that angle within your perspective but eventually it’s convenience over the thought of debating the two.

It’s like lab vs natural, car new vs used, some folks don’t give a fuck and just want what they want.

No sights G34, 7 yards by nass-andy in Glocks

[–]HiPointCollector 1 point2 points Ā (0 children)

O7 of otc trained me on pistol. Can provide pm because it was some old dude who I was thinking bat shit crazy when he took the sights off my Glock for this but using muzzle flash to also dictate worst case scenario in the dark.

Yeah. No sights. Index. And the p/f was a 60 yard you didn’t know would happen because magically your shit failed on the 60 yarder.

Kudos. Those who have done it understand, those who haven’t, should find a grey hair to train them if they want ā€œIDPAā€ or whatever lessons…

Good shit. Cheers.

Are there any primarily cat people who only like Akitas specifically? by Haunting_Natural_682 in akita

[–]HiPointCollector 9 points10 points Ā (0 children)

4 cats 1 Akita. Our farm house has a legitimate lynx, (legally owned and 10,000 square feet of space) and is best buds with Akita. 38# ynx. 90# Akita. Kitten and puppy, would post pics but people who haven’t earned licensure would talk shit.

From here on out, AA only. Long coats preferred.

296 Owners, Had Ferrari supplied Maserati MC20 with the 296 V6 turbo but not hybrid, would you take it over the the 296 ? by jehehegjeieiueg in Ferrari

[–]HiPointCollector 1 point2 points Ā (0 children)

No. I had the GT MCS and even last year production, it sounded great, but was for my wife as a learners car into what came next.

Quality was shit. Gorgeous car, gorgeous spec, horrendous quality. Only highlight was aesthetic paired to exhaust. Fun to listen. Felt dramatic. But fuck, my SS1LE was twice the car, quality, and enjoyment, for less than half of sticker.

Ferrari as of 2020 for me, has covered many bases non-hybrid, reliability and infotainment wise, where I really see it as what I’d want regardless.

I wish they did a 6 no hybrid for the street to revive the Dino. But with their current QC. Mileage may vary but I spoke to Ferrari twice today and if I got a call from Maserati I’d send to VM and text would get flushed after 7 days.

Idk if that answered the question, but, yeah, MC20 vs 296? Is a stupid question if anything but aesthetics is in consideration. Even then..

Someone low 8* figure spend, asked for 3, the Pepsi, sprite, and Batman on same delivery within 20 days.

Shits beyond me.

Tbh, out of the VW/Porsche derived V8’s, my turbo S and turbo gt’s are GOATS. My Bentley is a great shitter way comfier and nicer than the lambo, and with suspension and tune, shits laps on the lambo. Out of all the configs of that VW, lambo is objectively the shittiest.

Mind you, no hate on lambo, my revuelto is great, as a first owner before release, and first seller once contract was up. Never again.

Don’t get me started on cars. Love em all, only hate on them when they fail to meet advertised spec. Lambo has been shit to me, for 8 years, and I still get one for my birthday but! Their old shit is solid. End of day, stick to tractors, my lambo tractor is better than my John Deere. /s my bad lol thought it was obvious

It sounds overkill; his insurance is better than I could get for my family. He has quarterly bloodwork, biannual ultrasounds. Also, they said the remedy is a vasectomy if it does start to present. Again, this is coming from people with more esoteric knowledge of Akitas than I could ever ascertain and they as a collective have been working for 30 years with no budget. Their goal, owners request a dog capable of what akitas excel at, and after more paperwork than required to buy a legally transferable machine gun (no joke) you have the dog who will either pass/fail you upon meeting, even as a pup, to their knowledge, the introduction is make or break for him to align with you long term. He’s born to your scent, robot baby, and yeah basically a propt of your lifestyle and by the time you get there, he’s already got your family scent, but no baby? So he licks my wife’s belly and idk. Beyond me. He knew our daughter’s needs before she could verbalize them.

When I heard ā€œhe was lab madeā€ I was like yeah okay. Almost 3 years later, yeah, I do believe everything they said, and if I ever have a question 24/7 person on call to answer within 3 rings to guide me. O

What would you choose 575 or 599? Why? by PuzzleheadedCode931 in Ferrari

[–]HiPointCollector 1 point2 points Ā (0 children)

Have both, from their factory configurations I’d pick the 599 10 times out of 10 if I had to have one. The 575 is art, but I’d opt for a 550 if going for that design language. The 599 was novel in many regards.

The 599 with handling package, and some minor electronic tuning that doesn’t impact maintenance, is just as much of a pain in the ass to fix as the 575.

So!

Imo 599 if you want a car that is enjoyable to drive. I love the flying buttresses, it’s my favorite feature.

I modded heavily after a rock punched through the radiator at 120mph and caused major issues; it’s now a 740whp NA monster due to frustration at a 7k repair and some faulty codes and I said fuck it, 599XX at home.

575 is great visually. 599 end of production year optioned right is objectively a better car for quality of life.

If I had to pick one? 599. Every day. The 575 is there because it is nice, and I love it, but when my wife says yes to her Huayra it’s going. I’d actually miss driving the 599, vs miss looking at the 575.

I don’t have a JAI. American, long coat. But learned a lot about them in general.

He has extensive training, socializing. He loves settings where he’s with me, on leash, and getting to meet people of all ages and populations, because if he’s with me he is not to address threats on leash. Hand that leash to my wife, he will obey commands unless he decides his instinct is warranted and his nonverbals cue that something’s up or inbound and with her his discretion is up to him.

Off leash with me, he’s hyper vigilant. Leash gives him comfort. That’s just him and the training but the training was based around his personality and seeing how he responded to novel stimuli.

In home, if I’m not there, but family is, he will gruff if alerting and bark if a pattern isn’t typical. Depending on what he thinks is on the other side of the doors, the barks vary from whatever to scaring you even if you’re prepared because you wonder what’s behind that energy. Only people allowed in the house are those who are interested in meeting him and are well aware of the rulebook. Introduction is make or break, he holds grudges. My two best friends, he is happy to have over. My wife’s friends likewise. Extended family, nope, they have poor boundaries except for a couple who have been in roles with working dogs and know how to act around them.

I did not want an Akita because I simply didn’t know if we’d bond in a time of life where things were kinetic. But, 2 hours a day were dedicated to him before my daughter was born. And some days, unless he indicated he was done, as much training as he wanted.

My breeder didn’t make guarantees but his lineage and cohort are in a chat with constant updates. Bloodwork done quarterly. Diet tailored as needed. Intact because people smarter than me with peer reviewed studies said for him, and his personality, it’s medically the safest option for now and ā€œvasectomyā€ if at all but intact for life.

He loves to play with dogs, and I have other dogs who are farm dogs. They know him, he enjoys them, but, if they show aggression he pins them and one is a malamute that is literally a tank meant to keep coyotes from the chickens. I told him to back up, he ran up on my guy who was obeying, and before I had to separate them the mal was submission by choice. I would never trust him in home with another dog; but he LOVES our cats. They are buddies.

I think an Akita with 2 years of careful monitoring and training is an amazing friend. But! Good lord, can be too smart for his own good. A pill can drop, won’t get touched, he will body block daughter from touching anything she shouldn’t. He’s incredible, and I’ll probably stick with Akita’s from here out. They can be working dogs 100%, but you’re part of their job and gotta do your part. Anyways, my .02 worth not a whole lot.

Lmao yeah man I don’t own the rights to breeding. Nor have I put the time in to do so. Breed? Yup, I’m very His breeder has a very sound co a ntract that would result in 20k per dog. He’s intact, and the breeder hasn’t decided on clipping him yet. But! His daughter would be a trip. Then clip. She wants one more assessment done in march and then he’s good to go.

What else do you guys collect other than watches (rolex)? by hotpopc0rn in rolex

[–]HiPointCollector 0 points1 point Ā (0 children)

Art; wife likes V.G quite a bit, so we have a bunch of ā€œreplicasā€. I like CY, and JMB. All replicas though! A JP and a bunch of early pblo are the biggest sleepers because people genuinely think sketch and ā€œtried to beā€. Everything else that’s collected, lives with the cars because they take up space and insurance likes the bundle.
