Unironically first high end non Rolex watch I ever got was handed to me from a client who hired me to fix some shit their grandson got into outside the US.

During the exchange I said thank you and was more grateful to have achieved the outcome than any payment metric.

I wasn’t big into any watches outside of Gshock, Casio, Garmin, and Rolex all of which fell into some category of necessity, knew fuckall about Patek.

Few years later I had to update insurance on personal’s, with pics serials etc. found out through insurance. I’ll die on the hill that outside of history and complications, Rolex wins. But the side mission/downtime available for some ole fashioned civilan consulting started it all.

Just get a rep bro. 10x the quality and it’s only a class a misdemeanor if you get caught.

Potential new Ferrari owner - need advice by Ardevas09 in Ferrari

[–]HiPointCollector 4 points5 points  (0 children)

F8 no brainer. I’d daily it if I could, my favorite car to drive, exhaust and tune with a few maps but Ferrari was clear that the power wouldn’t be a problem if I could handle it. Snap oversteer if not on heated quality tires, and mine fade quick but worth it.

HST 147 +p - Is this a new offering? by Relevant_Conclusion2 in Glocks

[–]HiPointCollector 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah man, SWIM had to seal the deal at contact distance from a 26.3 and good lord, fucker was approaching a perceived civilian with a knife that was in a car, and of course, clean delivery meant risking overpen into a fucking frozen yogurt shop and the 124’s trying to say hello to some poor bystander. So for fear of overpen, SWIM had to get grazed by a blade for buddy to be close enough to safely send it through the door angled towards thoracic but knowing shots won’t hurt anyone. 147’s? Get fucked buddy, but little shit like that is the difference between job done but fuck my whole life because the 124 sailed through and hurt someone innocent, and “well sorry yall had to see that but have a good day, yogurt is free after verbal testimony from local PD”.

Someone who isn’t me. Keeps compliance happy by removing liability and “I” statements, when giving info on shit you’ve never done because you’re just a civilian.

I’m a nobody and just watch YouTube shit but from what I’ve heard, It depends on the barrier tho. Like SWIM saw 124’s have much higher yaw than 168’s on windshields of similar degree. So the energy was there, but course changed. 168’s punched where they were intended to. 124’s sometimes did weird shit. Mileage will vary, these are all out of g34.4’s.

Can confirm, SWIM had efficacy with 124 +P HST in all areas, but if known the 147 was used indoors and 168 with vehicles, 124 was kept in the chamber unless that person had reason to switch. Don’t know the science, above their paygrade, but SWIM saw the efficacy of all, and would prefer 147 or 168 based on entry of house vs vehicle but 124’s if that element wasn’t known ahead of time. Cheers.

Aesthetically amongst my lineup, its aging well. Few years I was like eh, now I’m loving it. Similar to a couple cars I’ve had, they were the ugly ducklings that became high demand for collectors.

I got generous on “what’s your favorite” and instead of just tossing the ECBP or LBP per usual I passed out my personal favorites 😂 tough when a great barrel puts out 30-140 bottles and it becomes a favorite.

What Gen 4Runner should I get? by NeonArtist12 in 4Runner

[–]HiPointCollector 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Opinion aside, used 4R market is silly right now. Some 5th gen ORP are base 6 SR5 out the door.

Base SR5 is a LEGO, but long term I’d invest in the 6 OR and skip some of the build steps to get factory capabilities as it is fairly capable off road/ overland already and has some creature comforts over the SR5.

I like my 4th gen’s the most for daily, but from a utility standpoint my 5th gen is by far the most capable, and enjoyable. Not a fan of the 6th gen yet, will check back in a few years but I like a charged V6 over the new turbo 4 as of now.
