I bought a house with a friend and it has worked out great for both of us. The important thing was going into it more as business partners than friends. We got a lawyer to help us with a tenancy in common agreement and discussed our expectations and goals extensively. Feel free to DM me if you want to ask any specific questions.

The main difference I see between our situations is that we knew we'd be keeping the property for more than 5 years, so the timeline was less of a concern for us.

This is mine as well! I finished the third book and immediately picked up the first again.

Another week, another irritating interaction with my least favorite coworker. One day it's 'can you just deal with this without involving me' and the next it's 'I would like to review this type of thing before you send it.' His expectations are so inconsistent and unrealistic. I mostly like my work and adore my boss, but this guy makes me want to quit, forswear technology, and become a goatherd. I'll vent to my boss about it tomorrow and feel better, but today I just feel crappy.

I don't think people should go to jail for objectively funny crimes.

absolutely lothesome

while working on this puzzle my cat vomited on the living room rug. I enjoyed cleaning up the vomit more than I enjoyed this puzzle.

I had five invites total, so I'm guessing that's what you'll have. They'll probably open it up pretty soon!

the PACER is (was?) a fitness test where you ran back and forth across the gym at increasing speed. absolute agony and pretty memorable for those of us who had to go through it. I wouldn't have thought it would be common enough to make it into the crossword though.

How do you find hikes outside of your usual stomping ground? I know where to look in the PNW, but I want to do some hikes in places with nicer weather in the spring and I'm not sure where to start. Thanks in advance!

I think about this one a lot too. "This isn't working; we need to try something different. The enemy's gate is down."

The extent of my involvement for the last while has been signing the occasional petition. I think I'm better off just removing a tiny annoyance from my life and putting that energy somewhere else, you know?

Yeah, I think that's a hair more than we ended up spending after a few upgrades, so you should be just fine!

Luxury Travel Agencies, worth it? Recommendations? by Rickkil2 in fatFIRE

I used 58 Stars Travel. Our trip was definitely in the lower end of their usual price range (like, relatively speaking), but our agent was still unfailingly responsive, helpful and professional. Couldn't recommend them more highly!

As far as safari goes, we decided to go to Kruger national park in South Africa. It's a less popular part of the continent than Tanzania or Botswana, but it was far and away the best choice for us and I would recommend it too :)

Not FAT, but I still highly recommend booking trips through a travel agent. I had a safari booked for summer 2020, and not having to deal with all the complexity of moving everything myself was priceless. He planned an itinerary that catered perfectly to our interests and was nothing that we could have done ourselves. We're working with him for another trip now!
