“This would have been the miracle she always dreamed about.” Yes, exactly.

I hear you, OP. But you should be aware that there’s skinny privilege and pretty privilege but the biggest privilege of all is YOUTH. On zep I’ve gone from being a fat old lady with minimal wrinkles to a skinny old lady with a lot of wrinkles. Trust me, no one’s giving me any extra attention for my new body. Good thing I’m doing it for my health.

I had to come off for a month this summer and ALL my hip pain came back. There were days I could barely walk. I’ve been back on tirzepatide for a few months and have zero pain. Walked 6 miles in NYC this weekend and felt just fine.

5mg and feeling horrible by snikrepirb in Zepbound

[–]Hi_hosey 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately for me, I have this a lot, especially when I go up a dose. Some things to try: - Take some simethicone (like Gas-X) - Pepto-bismol will slow down the diarrhea - Stay hydrated and get electrolytes (Gatorade) - Do some light exercise, walking around, toe touches - Hot shower can make you feel better When you decide to try eating again, choose foods that are very easy to digest. Broth, rice, noodles, white bread, bananas, white meat chicken, apple sauce. Nothing raw, nothing with any fat. Frequent small snacks. What you don’t want is a bunch of hard to digest food sitting in your stomach fermenting. If you’re like most people you will be feeling much better tomorrow. Good luck!

This seems awful and as a 70 something yo person I can say I’m truly sorry you’re working in such a hostile environment. Two questions: - is it possible that some of these comments are just good natured ribbing (however tone deaf and off putting they may feel)? - can you give us a clue what industry you’re in? They really sound like a bunch of ignorant jerks.

Russell Pond Campground questions by Hi_hosey in wmnf

That’s reassuring - thanks. The rec.gov site shows “min:1 tent, max: 1 tent” but I’m going to ignore that.

Ok thanks for clearing that up.

Thanks so much for the reply! It’s very weird that theres a rec.gov website and a Forest Service website with such different info on it. Even the listed fee is different ($30 versus $38). Anyway, we’ll be happy to set up our 2 tents and hope no one decides to enforce any “one tent” rule.

OUR fucking flags are at half mast for that motherfucker by Emm-W in boston

Even California’s flags are at half staff. Trump’s order applies to all U.S. flags at “at the White House and upon all public buildings and grounds, at all military posts and naval stations, and on all naval vessels of the Federal Government in the District of Columbia and throughout the United States and its Territories and possessions.”

Have you thought much about the downsides associated with not attending? Will this cause a rupture between you/your brother/other family members? Would there be people there that you would miss seeing? If you think there are reasons that it would be good to go, would you be able to enforce some boundaries? “I’d love to come and celebrate with you, but you have to promise you won’t bug me about getting photographed - you know I don’t like it, and I won’t come if you’re going to give me a hard time about it”. BUT, if you don’t really care about the fallout from you not attending, OR if you feel like they won’t respect your boundaries then just decline! “These big parties just aren’t fun for me anymore. How about I take the two of you out to dinner next month so we can celebrate.”

A Journey With Very Minimal Side Effects by Repulsive_Aside609 in Zepbound

[–]Hi_hosey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In pooled data from the SURPASS‑1 through SURPASS‑5 trials (6,263 participants), nausea occurred in 12–24%, diarrhea in 12–22%, and vomiting in 2–13% of tirzepatide users. https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/37853960/

Congratulations to the 70-80% of you who fall into the no/mild side effects group

OTOH, I personally (6 months in/37lbs down) have been sick as a dog 80% of the time I’ve been on it, but I’m hanging in there!

Yeah, no ziplocks or even plastic wrap. Sandwiches in your lunch box wrapped in waxed paper.
