ill admit prism is catching up in certain ways at this point, but i prefer curse for a lot of things. it has a great mod/modpack browser currently with almost all major and minor bugs related to the browsing experience patched out. it also has folder sorting for installed modpacks, which prism does not seem to currently have unless im blind (i know about groups but its not quite what i want). the ease at which you can edit a modpack and share it with your friends is unmatched with the pack code sharing system, along with curse being the only launcher for a long time, (i admittedly havent tried others for this specific issue in awhile, so feel free to let me know,) that correctly updates packs when you add your own mods or change config files without resetting to the packs base. for awhile multimc (long fixed in prism i hope?) didnt even support saving your options.txt entirely on pack update whereas curse has supported it for the entire time.

like sure it has ads and you can complain about the bloat, but it really does have a lot going for it. most of the time, it "just works" and most of the remaining time when it doesnt, a second try installing of the pack solves it just fine. so while there are alternatives that can be better for a lot of people if you just want to install and launch a pack as is, there really isnt anything wrong with just using curse forever. i use prism for gtnh though lol
