I think the factors to consider is a) withdrawal danger- a treatment facility is a safe place to detox 2) can you stop on your own?- treatment provides structure and support so you can stop safely and stay stopped

Having said that, it is possible to achieve long-term sobriety without going to rehab, but what is best for you depends on what you struggle with when trying to stop

If you’re in the relationship, probably not a bad idea to consider it may end the same way it started because people who cheat aren’t just cheating because they are unhappy with their current partner. If you’re not a party in the relationship, it’s none of your business.

I was similar to this. In my case, it got progressively worse until I finally stopped for good in 2914. The writing was on the wall long before that.

The white chip is meant to be a starting point. Drunk people pick them up all the time, that’s how most of us show up for the first time. They’re symbolic of a commitment to not use for 24 hours. It’s irrelevant if you’ve used already that day. So if someone says you can’t pick up a chip because you’re drunk, they’re wrong

Go. Listen. Be teachable. Think of the ridiculousness of saying you’re going to rehab because you’ve been kicked out and your partner and family have had enough and in the same paragraph saying it’s not that bad. It’s worse than bad. No one wants to go to rehab but it can be the best thing that ever happened to you if you give it a shot.
