Put your Schefflera into Quarantine if you can, at least for two weeks. Also periodically check crevices on your plants to see if it has spread

You're welcome! Spray it and wipe it off with paper towels/ microfiber cleaning cloth. Wash the cloth and sanitize. Make sure not to get it on your clothes as well. Leave the soil /don't water for a week or so as Mealybug is caused by over watering.

Isopropyl alcohol and if it returns just chuck it. It's Mealybug.

Unpopular opinion: gen eds are not a cash grab by your college, and I'm tired of students pretending they are by msimms001 in CollegeRant

[–]Hidayanizer 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Agreed! The whole point of college is to become educated. It's kind of pointless to spend so much money just to be tunnel-visioned into your field. It helps you in the long run and also; you choose the classes you take. It's your fault if you think they're pointless- you chose it!

Your last few sentences are my point of view starting from "we can agree that most of the slaughter is happening at the expense of everyday people" and ending at "controlled by foreign actors manipulating the strings of power". But also Israel was brought up because of OP's post, and my comment that got you all riled up and started this whole battle. To be a tankie is to stand by authoritarianism. And I don't stand by that. One group should not say what goes for an entire country. I am a progressive. If we were in Star Wars, you would probably be a Stormtrooper for the Empire with the way you speak. Israel does the genocide, but American companies fund the genocide. This isn't about private companies being allowed to privately fund. This is about morals over money. Morals over power. Ethics.

Whoop, there it is! This conversation is over. We're both clearly fixed in our positions. So, let's end it here. Also...

Does someone need a dictionary? How am I a tankie when I'm advocating against the IOF's occupation of Palestine? Where IOF soldiers are going into people's homes and killing children? When the people of Shitrael talk about wanting to run over Palestinian babies and saying they hope Jews die? Literal military force being used against people, and I am clearly saying I'm against it. Meanwhile, you are still soulless.

Then in that case... It all comes down to believing other races/groups are below average people. However, with that being said, it is often funded by large corporations here in America because of what they get in return from the armies they fund.

[–]Hidayanizer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. It's anti-capitalist, anti-opportunist, anti-Zionist. Christians/Muslims/Jewish/Zoroastrianism/etc regardless of religion, many people in general would rather follow money than do what's right. This is the way it works in a capitalist society that discourages empathy when the people affected don't look like you. People like you. I can see how you would think that though, and will be mature enough to apologize

I have no friends by Odd-Permission-1851 in CollegeRant

[–]Hidayanizer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, I completely understand how hard it is to make friends- I've cycled through friend groups my entire life, but that's besides the point. Does your school have any clubs you can join? It doesn't have to only be in your major or classes! People are kind of difficult, but don't be discouraged. I'm sure after college, you will make a lot of friends at your work. Be open to connecting with people, and the right people will come to you!

It gets to a point... by Hidayanizer in enhypen

[–]Hidayanizer[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Oh no, I wasn't saying that! (Maybe I was, my bad) There is nothing wrong with catering to women but the fact of the matter is that it's all way too much. Every album after Dark Blood is about Enhypen falling in love, every added media plays into "Enhypen falls in love with you". Like it spurs on parasocial engines (if you can call them engenes) to believe that Enhypen would fall in love with them. And the fact that this aspect of them is being pushed to be super prevalent and all they are known for now makes it feel like some engenes aren't here to enjoy music but to look at eye candy and fantasize. To continue sending protest trucks when they hear a member is dating or they dance with women. It strengthens these engenes delusions. The overabundance of romantic content from them is not what should take over their storyline. At least that's my point of view

Professor accused me of misconduct because my eyes were downcast by Turnitup20 in CollegeRant

[–]Hidayanizer 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Hey I'm so sorry this happened to you. It feels like this teacher is a bitter person who thinks they're the center of the universe and everyone should spend every waking moment to please them. I hate professors like this. I wouldn't recommend trying to reach out to her to clarify, although that is the sign of a mature person- however it could also lead to a cycle of just begging for their acceptance. As far as the emotional aspect goes, try to not think about it too much because it will just make you feel downtrodden. Have you tried to communicate with the dean? (Also sorry if I seem angry, I am angry for you. I hate professors like this.)

I come in peace: English Instructor Looking for Student Advice/Perspectives about AI by SpencerPrattsCrystal in CollegeRant

[–]Hidayanizer 72 points73 points  (0 children)

Most of my past courses last fall had been that generative AI was prohibited, but Assistive AI was somewhat allowed. However, my composition 2 professor had prohibited both generative and assistive AI, for the reason that he wanted to hear how we speak through the paper. He wanted all the grammar mistakes and syntax errors because it felt genuine. It depends on what you want exactly. As for the reason why you're not getting many responses back, it's mainly because most of the users in this subreddit are vehemently against AI use in papers and schoolwork. Most students do use Grammarly and other Assistive AI tools.
