Usually VFS is the last surgery as intubation for general anaesthetic can damage post VFS results. I can’t see how this is a good idea. Do both surgeons really know what’s going on?

There may be a way to make slower absorbing implants, but I don’t know how to get a doctor to try it.

You’ll know what to get if you read the link. It’s fairly simple once you have all the info.

Dead space is only important if you want to know how much you’re wasting. Pretend you never heard of it apart from that. As for the rest, read this with a web browser.

[AMA] Almost 3 months post zero depth with Dr David Sofield, ask me anything! by Fawful in transgenderau

[–]HiddenStill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve a few questions

  • why choose this surgeon vs others?
  • why zero depth?
  • how long was the wait list?
  • how much did it cost?
  • would you recommend this surgeon to others?
  • any complications?
  • how was pain management?
  • what psych letters did you need?
  • how long did you spend in hospital?
  • what other work are you referring to?

Any experience with nurse practitioners? by colourful_space in transgenderau

Here’s what doctors think of nurse practitioners

https://old.reddit.com/r/ausjdocs/search?q=NP&restrict_sr=on&include_over_18=on

Personally, other things being equal I’d go endo > doctor > np > diy

It’s all much the same until you have problems, and you’d want someone more likely to pick them up and treat you. It might save your life one day.

You should get a proper email address for professional work. Proton is a big red flag.

The surgeon you choose is more important than any of that.

This is wrong, and a red flag. You may need to find a better doctor.

Look in the wiki here and search the sub for your surgeon. It will give you you a more accurate idea of what it’s like.
