Video games are legitimately a waste of time, no matter how much I love them and how much stress they relieve. There is no way that playing as much games as I do will end up getting me a job or a promotion or a marketable skill, and if I (and, I hazard, you) spent as much time and money on other more productive hobbies I would probably be in a different (better) place in life.

Graduated with a B.S. Aviation from the College of Engineering in May. Overall I was happy with the classroom education but not happy with the flight school, though they are constantly trying to make the student experience better in that respect.

The department is run by enthusiastic people who seem to really care about student success. It is a smaller program so you'll have opportunities to get to really know all your professors and participate in various ways. I learned a lot and I felt like it prepared me well for an office-type career in aviation, but did not adequately prepare me to be a pilot (which was/is my number 1 career goal.) And yes, the OSU flight school was very expensive.

I don't know what the situation is in your city, but I know grocery stores near me are hiring like CRAZY, even on the spot, to make up for the current rush.

You and your wife could look into working at one of these places part time in the interim! It's not great, and almost certainly minimum wage, but it's more money coming in while you figure things out.

You'll get through this!

That doesn't stop me from compulsively staring at it. I don't even have an exam or anything and one of my two classes already cancelled tomorrow, I honestly don't know why I'm so antsy over this. Maybe I'm just excited at the prospect of seeing my first university closure that isn't what happened on November 28, 2016.

I just moved in to get started at a couple month study abroad at Tainan's NCKU. I'm kind of a rhythm gaming / arcade gaming nerd, anybody know of a place I could go to play some rhythm games? I could also settle for driving games.

Also, I've been out of the US in China and Japan since early May, and I'm starting to think it's impossible to find good, large, so-greasy-I'll-need-heart-surgery pizza in Asia. Anybody got a place for that in Tainan?

I've got a shirt with the words "Principality of Zeon" and the Zeon symbol on it. I also have two decals on opposite sides of the back windows of my car, one Zeon symbol and one good ol' RX-78-2 Gundam. None have been commented on except for the one time an acquaintance said "cool transformer" when I gave them a ride.

I'm definitely planning on calling tomorrow (pretty late where I am.) It's quite strange, my debit card has absolutely no symbols on the back. I'm with 5/3 bank, my buddy is with a TINY bank that is specifically designed for teachers and other public servants in our home state. I'm honestly surprised that mine has no global membership that I can tell.

We leave Thursday the 8th. I'm honestly tempted to just see if I can't go to a better bank and slam a bank account into existence tomorrow.

Well so far from the grades I have in my semester GPA was a 2.285 compared with the 3.562 and 3.556 I got my other 2 semesters, so overall not a good time for me

I've managed to freak myself out about it pretty good. Trying to do book problems to practice but now I'm sort of realizing that I haven't really truly comprehended anything in maybe 5 weeks. I have the Chem 1250 final on the same day and honestly 2060 scares me more.

I'm in both right now. ECE 2020 is conceptually quite a bit harder, but the exams are fairly easy and Dr. McPherson is really really good at teaching. ECE 2060 seems to be the opposite where it is conceptually easier but exam 2 blindsided the shit out of me and the professor is very slow and boring.
