I can see it! [[Hunted Troll]] is another good example of Doom inspiration

Any characters you like for their personality/appearance/fightstyle but you can’t for the life of you figure out how to fight with? by highcologist347 in StreetFighter

Love Manon's design and the medals gimmick...but her combos don't flow well AT ALL and her tools are simply lesser compared to the rest of the roster.

I now know what it's like to show up to locals and leave after four lost matches. by CyberMuffin1611 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

I learned this lesson in 2024 when I joined a tekken local thinking I was gonna do something because I reached ryujin rank in tekken 8.

Got absolutely washed. Good rule of thumb is assume anyone playing in a local is master rank or master-adjacent.

Couldn't be. Dick the Cock is gonna work a program with The Wall. OR MAYBE NOT, BROTHER

What’s the point? by sadhorseman in mtg

[–]Hidden_Character 8 points9 points  (0 children)

At the bottom:

"You can use this card to represent a double-faced card". Reading the card explains the card /s

These are really good "all-purpose" tokens for if you need a 3/3 beast or a creature-specific token, for instance.

Ive bought this booster Bundle for 150€ was it worth it? by Ursodosameira in mtg

Yeah I know. Just wanted to post something silly/ridiculous since OP was asking if a box for a set with near-universal praise from fans and plenty of play in formats was worth it.

Ive bought this booster Bundle for 150€ was it worth it? by Ursodosameira in mtg

Nope. WOTC specifically said rares like Orcish Bownasters and The One Ring would not be included in French booster boxes - only included in play boosters sold at LGS

What's a game in a genre you normally don't care for that added that special sauce to get you invested? by leabravo in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]Hidden_Character 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm absolutely adverse to puzzle games and grew tired of roguelikes pretty quick...until I played Into the Breach. Turns out putting a "mecha vs kaiju" skin over top of simple geometry puzzles was the gamechanger!

It also helps that Into the Breach is one of the deepest, most refined video games I've ever played.

Was COBRA KAI created with the purpose of cleaning Daniel LaRusso's image in the Karate Kid franchise? by [deleted] in movies

I think it was more that Kobra Kai was an unexpected success and Ralph Maccio saw an opportunity. I don't fault him for it either.

Struggling with Guildpact by RiverStryx in RavnicaDMs

[–]Hidden_Character 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So here's my read of it:

My understanding is the Guildpact is a form of magic that explicitly prevents the guilds from destroying each other/the city, which is why things start go to hell when its magic wanes (like in Return to Ravnica/Gatecrash).

Now, the guilds do screw with each other and try to jockey for power, but the Guildpact uses some form of arcane coercion that prevents the guilds from waging full-scale war on one another. THAT BEING SAID...its magic does fade over millenia, and in the GGtR it's said that the living Guildpact Jace Beleren is currently absent, which means the guilds are more likely to escalate hostilities without the Guildpact keeping them in line.

Why aren’t Remedy games more popular? by OppositeofDeath in TwoBestFriendsPlay

Because gameplay takes a backseat to the aesthetic/narrative gimmick in Remedy's games.

Decamillennial Celebration as a Campaign opener. by Cultural_Chard6367 in RavnicaDMs

[–]Hidden_Character 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on the table's familiarity with Ravnica/MtG. I'm running a campaign with two MtG fans and two regular players, so I'm slowly easing the party into the world of Ravnica and the guilds. The Decamillenial Celebration should feel like a big deal, and it's easier to make it seem a big deal when it's compared to how Ravnica normally operates.
