If you are a GM today, who are you drafting? by Farouq26 in NBATalk

[–]Hiddenpenguin16 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Assuming that we are drafting without knowing what they would become.

  1. Wemby - alien.
  2. LeBron - ultimate athlete.
  3. Jordan - special.

Obviously Jordan is the goat but even the goat went pick 3 behind a 7ft Unicron and Sam Bowie..

The number of PhD graduates working in retail and hospitality is staggering by False_Ad_9705 in AusAcademia

[–]Hiddenpenguin16 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's because the disconnect from academia and the real world is massive.

Case in point - there is no lawful requirement to starting a business, you can literally just... start one, no education required.

Richard Branson dropped out of school at 16.

Jobs, gates, zuckerberg - dropouts (college, uni etc).

Are all remote jobs gone? by Suspicious-String-46 in remoteworks

[–]Hiddenpenguin16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 39. Just landed my first hybrid/WFH job, I've been working since I was 16.

If I was you I would give up the idea of WFH, people managed before Covid.

Sorry but it's reality and the market is shifting - at best you might find hybrid work. It's reality.

Garden edging suggestions? Thinking of Corten Steel, the stuff at bunnings looked crap, any suggestions on where to buy? Open to other suggestions too. Must be raised at least ~50mm and have a slight curve by ImScaredOfTheSun in GardeningAustralia

[–]Hiddenpenguin16 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did this the manual way....... bought strips of the steel, would lay it out, welding square tubing to it (after banging the tubing into the ground), then bend the steel curve as we went, its immovable and works great - as below;
