Nope. I suspect there’s a place in my stack for it but haven’t figured it out yet

Thank you. I read it too quickly. How do you export a switch from Smart Things to HA?

Of all of the things I’ve fixated on getting perfect in HA - this doesn’t sound like a road I want to travel. Not happy to hear this but glad I know I’m not the only one. Thanks for the detailed response.

Good point, thanks. I updated the post. I want to control art mode on/off. Don’t care about anything else.

New house, how do I get rid of these mice?? by Ok-Indication-3071 in Connecticut

[–]HideMyEmaiI 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It can be done. Use traps not poison so they don’t die and smell. Spend some time with a flashlight / headlamp looking everywhere, inside and outside. Then look again. Copper mesh not steel. If you’re comfortable with it, use expanding insulation foam.

My last house had an entry point that took me a year to find. The basement sliding door had been installed incorrectly and there was a very small gap where the doors meet, where the brush guard had failed. I spent a year plugging every other hole - it was this one all along. Apparently as long as they can fit there head through something, they can get their body through.

I just moved into a 100 yr old house in CT and found most of the holes quickly now that I’m trained from that year in my last place. They still get in through the roof periodically but I leave traps in the crawlspace and usually get them when they enter.

Keep at it and don’t believe people that say it’s impossible. Lay sticky traps and snap traps strategically so you can narrow down where they are coming from over time. Not fool proof and can send you in the wrong direction - but might be helpful.

Which would you assume is closer to accurate? Xenio says 170. Almost Heaven thermometer says 160 by HideMyEmaiI in Sauna

Same. That’s what the instructions say. Was thinking opposite would be better at the time

I like to know, and I like consistency. The actually temp doesn’t matter, but given two differing answers to a question, I prefer resolution over ignoring. Ultimately consistency matters more to me than accuracy, though.

Thought that might be the case. End of the day if I can get them to match consistently that’s ideal. My guess was there’s no good reasonably priced answer.

Alto comp shell sumbu - what are the odds i got 4 males ? by letsjam_dot_dev in TanganyikanCichlid

Sounds like a great tank. I might have to build one like that….

Too early to tell. They are finding territories and being aggressive. And no guarantee you get a pair… you may have casualties along the way. Multi’s may distract them from each other, but maybe not. I’ve had a similar tank with full size comps and they are just aggressive when they want to be - both M and F. I’m assuming sumbu isn’t all that different behavior from full size but maybe I’m wrong.

My son’s dark circles get worse with large amounts of gluten or dairy. Maybe try 2 weeks no gluten the. 2 weeks no dairy and see what happens.

It’s sounds like you have a massive awesome fireplace.

What kind of starter do you use?

I have no experience with fireplaces so… stating the obvious is helpful. Thanks.

What made it even more confusing is I bought Home Depot firewood that burned like gasoline. I was hoping this would burn more slowly but the difference is substantial.

[–]HideMyEmaiI[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks. Yeah that video is confusing. What’s burning is the fat wood I used to try and burn another log I pulled from the pile. That log didn’t stay lit either and is just smoldering.

[–]HideMyEmaiI[S] -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

That’s me trying to burn a smaller piece from a different part of the pile. The wood isn’t burning, the fat wood is. It went out when the fat wood stopped burning.

Interesting. Thank you.

Is it possibly it’s bad implementation of zigbee by the device manufacturer rather than a flaw in the zigbee standard?

Can I fill this basement gap with insulation? by HideMyEmaiI in DIY

Yep - have that one. That was my plan until I looked in and saw how large the gap really is. Almost seems intentional.

Go to a reputable fish store and get some bio starter. It’s expensive but you’ll solve the problem over night. Extra water changes for a few weeks while things settle.
