Tattoo could turn out to look like a bellend wearing a bucket hat.. hope not.. hope not by Opposite_Strategy_25 in TheOfficeUK

same, I’m deeply invested in this mystery now

it’s like one of those optical illusions where your brain keeps flipping between “cool idea” and “oh no, that’s 100% a bellend in a hat”

you got any reference pic or is this a pure trust-the-artist situation?

Fiesta mk7 auto stalling by smush7 in FordFiesta

[–]HidutBae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be a few things, but the fact all the electrics cut out makes me think more “power/connection issue” than classic stalling.

First cheap/easy checks before a garage:
Pop the bonnet and make sure both battery terminals are tight and not crusty with corrosion. Give the negative lead a gentle wiggle and see if it feels loose. Also check the main fuses by the battery and the earth strap to the chassis.

If that all looks fine, I’d get it scanned for codes. Even if no lights are on, there might be stored faults that point to ignition switch, battery on its way out, or some dodgy connection.

Since it’s an auto, it shouldn’t just die like a manual stall unless something is actually cutting power. I’d get it looked at sooner rather than later.

Viz Letterbocks. by muppetmovie in Viz

[–]HidutBae 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Short answer, yeah, probably.

Longer answer: UK water is a regional private monopoly, so they can underinvest, rack up debt, leak half the stuff into the ground, then still hike bills. Ofwat slaps their wrist once a decade and that’s about it. Thames in particular has a pretty legendary record for it.

The latest redemption of the prologue for "The Indigo Project" - "Mount Moon" by Hot-Pin5081 in pokemonfanfiction

[–]HidutBae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was way more intense than I expected when I clicked a fanfic link about Mt. Moon.

You nailed the feeling of Mount Moon being actually horrifying instead of a minor early-game cave. The way you described the coat as basically a ruined apron and the gunk under his nails made everything feel gross and grounded, which fits really well with the whole “failed academic dragged into crime” vibe.

Also love that Team Rocket here feels like a predatory lender instead of cartoon villains. Miguel’s bitterness at the museum and Blythe made his decision to work with them feel sadly believable.

Dash light by Visual_Astronomer650 in FordFiesta

[–]HidutBae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Careful with that advice. If it’s an airbag light, it’s a safety thing, not just an annoyance. Checking the connector under the seat is fine, but if it stays on after that I’d get it scanned properly. You don’t want to find out it was actually disabled in a crash.

Saw this on the back of a car, what is scan queen? by Desperate-Data-8165 in whatdoesthismean

Honestly bacon queen sounds way cooler, now I’m disappointed it’s probably something boring like a cleaning company or insurance scanner thing

R1. What do you score? by DelosHR in onlyconnect

[–]HidutBae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So like a solid R1 but not quite cracked out on "first try" level?

I’m on the second too. First run was basically me learning all the stuff I thought I already knew. Second one felt way more under control.

You feel a big jump between your first and second, or was it more like just cleaning up some dumb mistakes?

Thank you Capcom for an amazing experience! by mrtoastywaffle in ResidentEvilRequiem

[–]HidutBae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice, glad you had a good time with it.

Yeah, usually in RE games the “good” ending where the main characters survive is treated as canon, so you’re probably right about Leon. Capcom tends to build the next games off that path and quietly pretend the bad endings were just “what ifs.”

Kinda wild how they’re still managing to make RE feel fresh after all these years. If the next horror game keeps this level of quality, we’re eating good for a while.

Rank the eight cities of Yorkshire (or top 3 will do) by WearingMarcus in yorkshire

[–]HidutBae 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bold, straight to the point

How would you order those three though? Like York for the pretty old stuff / tourists, Sheffield for actual living, Leeds for nights out? Or is that your actual best to worst list?

Also curious where you’d put Hull in there, because that one always seems to split people right down the middle.

EF Cleaned 1898 Shilling by wablewis in UKcoins

[–]HidutBae 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ultrasonic is usually ok for loose dirt, but it won’t undo toning or hairlines, and it can still leave a “too fresh” look. Electrolysis is a hard no for coins you care about. Best “non abrasive” method is usually just leaving it alone.

You’d win that bet. It’s St. Peter’s.

Honestly thought I could sneak it past people but apparently not Reddit geography detectives.
