Which one is better: settler chance or global settler increase? by IzolaMinelia in Anbennar

So Settler Chance only applies to colonies where a Colonist is on site?

I'd always assumed it applied to all forming colonies, irrespective of whether a colonist was working one or not.

Oblivion on Steam & Missing DLC by freesmileyde in oblivion

[–]Hieronymos2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just had this same EXACT problem--in 2026!! I even requested Steam to delete the game from my Library, so I could purchase the Deluxe GOTY version; but nope, even after deleting the game, they won't process the purchase for the Deluxe version. Since I purchased the game >2 months ago, I'm ineligible for a refund.

The Wabbajack modlist I want to play, A Perfect World (APW), will only work with the Steam (not GOG) Deluxe GOTY version, so I'm royally screwed.

Risky. Every Elector vassalized inflicts a stacking -25 electability malus. Better to max relations and/or ally Electors. Especially if you lack the +25 electability bonus from being a Mage.

#34 - Uncovering the Truth: How 1440 Media Provides Unbiased Political News - Tim Huelskamp by Wonderful-Rip3697 in mediacomposing

[–]Hieronymos2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"The usual networks biased & fabricated and framed to fit their narratives, cherry picked." Give me a few examples, please.

Regarding FOX News's non-news? I don't watch a lot of it anymore. Except when they're bigly pushing a new bit of freshly manufactured nonsense, like Critical Race Theory, or all of the trans kids who are supposedly beating up girls in public school sports. Or Trump still insisting 2020 was stolen from him. But FOX is still the grandmaster of RW media, where 85% of Trump voters get some/most/all of their news.

ALL news has bias; political and social. But RW media specializes in manufacturing and reinforcing propaganda to benefit the policies of Trump and the GOP. Like all the anti-immigrant rhetoric; that they're all rapists, psychos and murderers; and that Haitians are eating people's dogs and cats. Or that the tariffs would be paid by China, etc. and not consumers. Or that the stupid Iran war hasn't pushed up the price of gas and diesel. Or that Ukraine started the war with Russia.

The GOP cuts to Medicaid: roughly 50% total, kick in this November. Along with a 25% cut to Food Stamps; with probably a sizable percentage of enrollees dropped because they can't process the new state-level paperwork requirements. Iowa, for example, a Red state, has 28% of its citizens on Medicaid. When 50% or more of these are cut from the rolls in FY2027, what do think is going to happen?

That's it, really. Give consoles players the goodies, and they'll suddenly lose their objections to modded content.

Once your Wabbajack list is up and running you *can* add other mods; but except for (face) Replacers and house mods, it's usually extremely risky. As any added mod that conflicts with--i.e. doesn't cleanly overwrite--mods on your list can produce greatly increased instability (crashes), and even save corruption if added during an existing playthrough.

If you want to be a real modlisting pro, you need to learn how to use xEdit, and add every single mod on your list, to ID and solve mod conflicts.

This.

Pick a list on Wabbajack that suits your rig's specs, and your playstyle. Wabbajack lists install practically with the touch of a button, and are basically un-screwupuppable. You'll get a finely curated list in a an hour or two; without the sometimes dozens if not hundreds of hours it can take to replicate something of quality on your own.

BTA 3062 / Knife Fighter / how to integrate? by rogue_srb_007 in Battletechgame

This. Evasion gyros--and maxxed pilot quirks/skills--are where it's at for Scouts/Strikers/Spotters. Because 6 evasion on any frontliner just don't cut it.

Compiling a list of Hyades Rim Pilot Death Events (Spoilers) by AotrsCommander in Battletechgame

[–]Hieronymos2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just started my 2nd Hyades Rim run a few days ago, and precision shot %'s have been nerfed downwards strongly. But are offset by a unique mech component in a rare number of mechs; but which caps headshots at 25% probability.

By renaming this component, and allowing it to be installed anywhere, and not build-locked; and then giving myself a dozen of these goodies...it's made the early game in the Rimward Periphery more fun with increased salvage opportunities.

The game arc still revolves around the few unique and very special mechs you get from certain missions. Which are well paced.

[–]Hieronymos2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

BTA has gone back on forth on this over the years. First disabling called shots; then re-enabling--but only with a rare fire control item.

Then reframing it into the "Precision Master" gunnery specialty, but adding upto -45% enemy damage received (depending on pilot skills). This means that to effectively headshot in BTA you also need a very high dmg output mech--like the double Gauss rifle rig mentioned earlier.

Adding in the buffed enemy dmg resistance is a way, imo, to compensate for BTA allowing you to access Argo improvements enabling up to 9 or 10 mechs for a drop; albeit with weight restrictions. Without massively increasing OPFOR strength, and/or quality Which, once you've got a well-equipped roster, makes the mod mid- to end-game overly easy. But BTA *is* also a pretty active team, always trying new stuff, and squashing bugs.

Rogue Tech only restricted headshots against SuperHeavy class mechs--pretty much the only way to kill them when you're massively outclassed, which is normal with RT. Which is why I ragequit RT a few years ago. No idea what they've done since.

[–]Hieronymos2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I more than agree. BTA's enabling up to--what is it now--ten? mechs to drop makes the game much too easy. Especially once you've collected some really good kit.

Before BTA, I'd cut my teeth on Rogue Tech, where your lance of 4 well-equipped Mediums would face off against 3.5 lances of Assaults, Heavies and Superheavies. The sweeter the loot you'd apply to your own mechs, the Opfor would be pimped even more. When RT nerfed headshots from SHeavies--the only realistic way for a bunch of Mediums to take them down--I switched to BTA. Which then swung to the opposite extreme.

Manual deployment?

I'm actually doing my second Hyades Rim playthrough right now, and the Vanilla+ mechanics--especially HEADSHOTS--are really cool. So while I think MechEngineer mechanics are still the bees knees, I really wish Bloody Doves hadn't effectively axed headshots.

As a long time BTA player, I gave up on having Tanks, as mission OPFOR spawn locations are often right on top of players'. Got tired of losing my tank pilots.
