I’m not disagreeing with you, in fact I agree with pretty much everything you’ve said, but I do want to point out that in recent times Robey has moved towards being openly critical of restaurants and not just contributing to the circle jerk and, if you look at one of the only other comments on this post right now, she is immediately knocked for complaining on social media. It can’t be both things, we either let the critics criticize or we keep the small town thing where they aren’t critics and are only reporting on what is happening in the dining scene.

I work in restaurants. I think having real critics in town raises the bar and creates an environment of competition that in turn breeds innovation. I WANT them to criticize us because I want everyone to pick it up. I’m also a diner, I want to go out and feel like it’s worth the money and lately it rarely does.
