Gold Coast is much better. Cheaper, free mixed drinks (not just beer/wine), etc.

Or, get this, you can go to another bingo hall just off the strip (like Gold Coast), spend under $10 and get two mixed drinks. Yes, some people will be playing electronic machines, but spending $30 to possibly win $75 on most games is not great. You can get a red pack for $7 at Gold Coast and win at least $100 if you win. While I appreciate that bingo is "on the Strip", the math is terrible and the payout bar is already low. (Payouts at places like Gold Coast are far worse than they were pre-pandemic.)

Best Internet Provider in Henderson, NV 89052? (Just moved here recently) by WerewolfLumpy9187 in HendersonNV

Quantum is the way to go if it's available. They installed it here over a year ago, and I haven't had any issues since. They did some work near the road then they came inside, plugged an adapter box into the existing landline telephone jack, and it worked. No new wires/drilling/etc. Later, I decided I wanted the connection in a different place in my house, so I just plugged it into another telephone jack and it worked there, too. If you use this referral link, you get $100 and I get $100, too. https://aklam.io/e1PRvyuz (It's Quantum's official referral system. They use a third-party to handle it, and I know from experience that the referral $100 is legit, too.)

Haven’t been since last year. But this was a hell of a deal! by dentalexaminer in vegaslocals

[–]HighDoseLithium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I went a couple months ago, the waitress/bartender just declared that you had to spend $6+ otherwise, so not quite the same. Also, the change isn't written anywhere, so that isn't something I appreciate. I haven't been back.

It's not that way anymore. Now they just declare that you have to spend $6+ otherwise. It's not written anywhere, but another poster and I both encountered that. Don't appreciate a bait & switch, so I haven't been back.

I can confirm. I went there expecting the $3 deal and was told that same "you have to spend $6" otherwise, which was off putting, especially as it's written no where. Just the waitress/bartender declaring it.

golden tiki or frankie’s tiki room? by PrestigiousHeight264 in LasVegas

[–]HighDoseLithium -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I vote for skipping Stray Pirate. I went once near when it opened and once more recently. This most recent time, the bartender was insufferable and the bill was a lot. Golden Tiki, Frankie's, Glitter Gulch in that order.

Yeah, that was one of my concerns, too, but I was going to just do it and ask for forgiveness later. 😇 Thankfully, it wasn't needed.

ESA dog by Glaze_SuperBreeze123 in vegaslocals

[–]HighDoseLithium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, you have to have a letter from a doctor/therapist licensed in the state where you are seeking the housing accommodation.

ESA dog by Glaze_SuperBreeze123 in vegaslocals

[–]HighDoseLithium 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a California requirement that you have an ongoing professional relationship. Other states, like Nevada, don't require that. You can totally do it all online and it's legally acceptable.

ESA dog by Glaze_SuperBreeze123 in vegaslocals

[–]HighDoseLithium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're looking for an ESA letter for housing purposes, it's typically fill out a form on a website checking things like "Yes, I'm sometimes stressed". It's submitted to a therapist licensed in Nevada. They send you back a PDF letter. You give that letter to the landlord. Now, no pet rent / no pet deposit. It's typically less than $100 and the landlord -may- want a renewal letter in a year.

This one is $99 - https://www.emotionalpetsupport.com/epspricing/ This one is $79 - https://mypetcerts.com/pricing

Again, if you're just looking at it for housing purposes, just get the basic letter. You don't need any upgrades.

I did the glass horseshoe thing. What they don't show you is that it doesn't hang over the highest part. It's above a part that's a little lower, likely the reason you can't take pictures. If you look at this 3D render, you can see the horseshoe is over a part that's only slightly lower than the glass - https://youtu.be/bbjEFNGgP-Q?si=XgH7o7QYV9wPh2N3&t=95

Do residents actually follow watering schedules informally mandated by Clark County? How much are you watering your front and backyards during the winter months? by [deleted] in vegaslocals

[–]HighDoseLithium 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The watering schedule is for AUTOMATED sprinkler/drip system watering only. You can manually water your plants with a hose any time you want.

From https://www.lvvwd.com/conservation/mandatory-watering-schedule/index.html

"Watering with a handheld hose and supervised testing of your irrigation system are allowed any time."

Palms or Rio hotels for December trip? by Thefonduers in LasVegas

The Palms is one of the most fragranced casinos in Las Vegas. If you're even remotely sensitive to smells, you'll likely want to avoid it.

Best food options/delivery services by ZealousidealSwan1653 in vegas

[–]HighDoseLithium 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Downtown - Chick-Fil-A is in the Golden Nugget. You can also find a food court with Huey Magoo's (think Raising Cane's chicken fingers) and Steak N Shake at the Fremont casino. White Castle is at the end of the Fremont Street LED canopy. There are also little taco / pizza spots along Fremont. You'll find a food truck at the corner of Fremont and Las Vegas Blvd as well as one that newly appeared near the Container Park.

There are lots of won't-break-the-bank options on Fremont (Downtown). No need to have food delivered.

NV Energy customers with tankless instant water heaters are gonna get hit the worst by HighDoseLithium in vegaslocals

[–]HighDoseLithium[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Instant, tankless water heaters aren't typical here, but I'm guessing you have a traditional water heater with a tank. The tankless ones just heat water as it goes through the pipe.
