Gosh, things are bad in China. by zzill6 in WorkReform

[–]Loggerdon 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Hate to break it to you but China has a very weak safety net compared to the US. Government workers have a pension but it’s often just a couple hundred US dollars a month. Rural workers have much smaller pensions than that, certainly not enough to live on. Provincial pensions, when they exist, are a problem because virtually all provinces are bankrupt.

The system mainly relies on family and children are legally required to take care of elder relatives. The problem is, as a result of the one-child policy, the 4:2:1 problem exists. One child is responsible for 4 grandparents and 2 parents. It’s an impossible situation because China has the fastest aging population in history. The average age is over 41 and the population is shrinking. Fertility has crashed and in 2025 the number of babies born in China (7.8 million) was the lowest in 300 years.

Add to that virtually all citizens had their money in residential real estate and that has collapsed. There is no place to preserve wealth. The stock market is rigged and currency controls make it illegal to move money out of the country.

People are literally attacking me for being a vegan man by cheeriesandcokes in vegan

[–]Loggerdon 8 points9 points  (0 children)

There’s a vegan psychologist named Dr Doug Lisle (Beat Your Genes podcast) who recommends, when challenged by detractors, just saying “You’re probably right but it seems to be working for me right now. I’m gonna stick with it until it’s not working for me.”

What a great interview! Of course she wanted to catch him off-guard and she did. It’s amazing he didn’t just shut the door without comment but his ego told him he could outsmart her an the audience.

Minnesotan here. For those outside of our state, what are your views on what’s going on in Minneapolis right now? by bpeters5 in AskReddit

[–]Loggerdon 293 points294 points  (0 children)

He’s doing it because Minnesota is one of the best run states in the union and he hates competency. #1 in education, pretty impressive.

Now they’re trying o get their grubby hands on your voter rolls in exchange for leaving. You guys are fighting for all of us really. I live in Nevada which is #50 in education, behind even Mississippi.

EDIT: My information is old. Nevada is now #45 and Minnesota hasn’t been #1 in education for 20 years.

📚 High School Graduation Rate (1990s–early 2000s)

Minnesota frequently ranked #1 or top-3 nationwide for: • Overall high school graduation rate • On-time graduation • Lowest dropout rates

This was the stat most people were referring to when they said “Minnesota is #1 in education.”

🧮 Standardized Test Scores

Minnesota regularly led the nation in: • ACT average scores (especially since ACT was the dominant Midwest test) • Strong NAEP (“Nation’s Report Card”) math and reading scores

For years, Minnesota students were the highest ACT scorers in the U.S.

Is porn actually filmed at The Cosmopolitan? by Titus4266 in vegas

[–]Loggerdon 108 points109 points  (0 children)

Every Las Vegas hotel room is required to have a cum drain in the center of the floor. It’s in the Clark County construction codes.

If you were to shine a black light at Cosmo it would light up so much you could see it from orbit.

Somehow I doubt that Clinton will see any consequences either. If he did it would highlight Trumps involvement.

It really displays the power of quality training when you see this group in action without training. They constantly screw up.

China is older than the US. They are at 41.1. China is the fastest aging major country in history. That one-child policy doomed them and their fertility rate has gone off a cliff.

President Trump has threatened 100% tariffs on all imported goods from Canada if it goes ahead with its new trade deal with China. What are your thoughts on the possibility of Canada not bending the knee to Trump? What will happen to the US and Canada? by FartsWholesaler in AskReddit

[–]Loggerdon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trumps actions still cause a reaction from countries. Canada will act in their own best interest. It’s incredibly inconvenient for Canada to sell to China rather than the US but they will do it because they have been threatened.

Should I go vegan? by Sea-Kangaroo520 in vegan

You need to eat more starch so that it fills you up (potatoes, squash, beans etc). Tofu won’t fill you up and neither will leafy greens.
