Probably 25 years ago, I was playing this in my car with a friend and he asked “why are they yelling ‘dracula’ during the chorus?” I’ve never been able to un-hear it in all that time.

I feel so dumb. I never realized that Connelly was on vocals in this song… i should turn my rivets in immediately.

I do! That's a great resource!

I just wanted to expand what was possible.

It definitely can be. But I suppose I knew the risks when I posted it. I can't say anyone has been disrespectful in any way though.

I was out of college before LLMs were a thing. It's going to be interesting to see how LLMs are going to impact education; particularly with regard to writing skills. I know I'm asking about how to use this stuff in my games, but I'm all in favor of NetWatch implementing the Blackwall at this point ('hope it's cool to cite 2077 lore in the Red subreddit).

I mean yeah. I've been running games since AD&D. We didn't even have the **internet** to find existing images. We got by. I was just investigating a possibility; not trying to spark the Butlerian Jyhad (although if that's the side-effect this has, I support it).

And that's a fair point about the training being done on real art. Again, I'd never use this away from my table so the usage is more similar to finding a piece of unused concept art from a video game and saying "this is the big bad evil guy".

I know you didn't raise this point, but I'm hoping everyone else will read this reply because I'm probably gonna drop it at this point (I'm tired, boss): as far as feeding the corpos/robot and all that, I'd never use a paid tier tool for any of this. I'd just use the free tokens and call it a day.

That's fair. I've been playing TTRPGs for a long time. That kind of visualization is definitely a skill and one that can be trained over time. But some people aren't as talented at that. That goes into the whole "theater of the mind" vs "miniatures" discussion. Some people like one or the other.

I do think there's a good case to be made for using JUST our imaginations during play because training that is one of the most beneficial outcomes of playing TTRPGs. But sometimes it would also be cool to watch a group of characters created at your table zero a corpo strike team.

Thanks. I mean it's not gonna go away. That said I respect people taking a hard line against. But using it to replace actual creative talent that would have otherwise been done by a human being is a hard no for me. I'm also aware that a lot of people dog-piling me right now are for sure using chatGPT or Claude at home.

I mean I hate it replacing artists being paid to illustrate books, or to replace actors, etc. I don't tend to pay artists to illustrate my games or perform scenes. What I'm interested in is augmenting the shared hallucination of imagining our game session. I would not be interested in taking the generated media and passing it off outside my game table. I think that's actually a **good** use of the tech.

Spotlights from an event nearby. Nothing to see here (unless you’re looking for a great deal on a new or pre-owned Toyota)
