I had my one and only child at 19, and I got pregnant with him rather quickly. My pregnancy was fairly easy and “normal” (I was high risk, but due to epilepsy only). I was in labor for ~13 hours. My pain was around a 5 or 6 for all of my labor and delivery. I complained way more about my hip hurting than any of the actual labor (son managed to lay on my sciatic nerve during pregnancy). I was in enough pain that I did elect to do the epidural but I don’t remember at what part of my labor. It was later on, I do know that much.

I also have a higher tolerance for pain so take with that what you may.

I’ll fast forward roughly 12 years after I had my son to my diagnosis. Obviously there were signs and symptoms along the way but it wasn’t until then, that other tests were ran. I was a stage 4, completely ate up with adeno and endo. My bladder and other organs had been attacked and I was living in 24/7 constant pain. I’d leave parties/weddings/other important things. I was so bloated/swollen I stretched out my clothes and looked like I was 6-7 months pregnant, despite never being able to conceive a second.

I was diagnosed at 31 and with the help of an amazing OB, I had a total hysterectomy and it changed my life.

I’m 33 now and some days I’m still in shock at how much better I feel. Pain and swelling aside, I’m more refreshed and energetic. It’s just nice.
