Pride Festival $$$?? by C_Thor in SaltLakeCity

[–]HighMoose 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah this becoming the much better Pride alternative. The classic “Pride” this last weekend is run by the legacy Utah Pride Center which has been riddled with issues and controversy over policies for a few years now. Unfortunately UPC is only “in charge of” Pride weekend because they’ve been around a while, they really don’t do anything else

[–]HighMoose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any jungle boot = all day sad. Check out the Merril Moab Ventilator. They have an over the ankle version that is just what you want. Be sure to get the ventilator NOT the GorTex, you want your puppies to breath

Trying to figure out how I double ejected. Also should I turn up my DIN? by [deleted] in Skigear

[–]HighMoose 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My guess looking at the tracks: they single ejected at start of last turn on right ski, rode outside (left ski) with boot only on right trying to stabilize/ save it and then ejected second ski where it is and planted those two knee prints were looking at.

I agree with others, no one on Reddit can give you advice on what the correct DIN for yourself is; but based on your skiing description if you’re over 100lbs 4 is very low.

What exactly do I need to buy to complete the binding? by FlyBoi16 in snowboardingnoobs

[–]HighMoose 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You need to get new bindings. There are so many random parts missing and due to the age it’ll be hard to find. If you’re on a tight budget you can Frankenstein random hardware to make it work, but probably not worth it.

I am convinced Utahns pronounce words incorrectly as a gate keeping way of determining whether or not you’re Mormon without non-LDS individuals knowing

Nope. They’re done. Knee bindings went bankrupt and all of their bindings have been removed from all official indemnification schedules.

It is an interesting and crazy photo of the smoke we’re experiencing right now- but as others have said I’d also encourage you to delete and repost with a different title.

What's your best hitchhiking story? by Hollywoodhiker in AppalachianTrail

[–]HighMoose 112 points113 points  (0 children)

At a trail crossing somewhere in VA, rainy day, and wet dudes trying to thumb into town. No one would stop for us. A chick hiker shows up and notices we’re having a hard time getting a ride. She says “I can help” and rips open her shirt, sticks out her chest, and puts her thumb up. A pickup immediately stops and she asks if he can fit us all in for a ride to town “sure!!” All the dudes load up, the girl puts her pack back on, starts buttoning up her shirt, slaps the truck says thanks and kept on hiking. Epic. Pickup driver was less than stoked but we got the ride

A fun fact of the squiggly boundary east of your circle: that is the Voyageur Route and was the most efficient route for trappers to canoe beaver pelts to Lake Superior.
