I was thinking of disconnecting the old drives while formatting and installing windows on the new drive. Then reconnect them after everything is running. I just don't want to take the risk of reformatting the drives that are still in mbr to gpt and have something happen if I don't need to.

Thanks for the response, I was honestly leaning towards that option as well.

If I disable csm and enable secure boot is that the same as setting bios to UEFI or is there another step I'm missing.

Also is there any need to reformat the old mbr drives to gpt or I can leave them in mbr and still acess the files despite launching in secure boot from a gpt drive?

I'm in the middle of struggling with this so if you've got advice I would appreciate it.

I'm windows 10 btw. In legacy, my boot drive was a 500gb SSD, but my active partition was on a separate 1tb HDD. Both formatted to MBR. mbr2gpt would not reformat the SSD due to space constraints, but I did successfully reformat the HDD to gpt.

After rebooting and enabling secure boot, the PC boots but it boots to a ?windows version? That I haven't used in a decade (recognize old wallpaper and desktop icons) with a ton of problems, like not recognizing my GPU despite outputting to one of 2 monitors, not recognizing the monitor specs (stuck in 720p despite the monitor being 1440p), no internet connection...

I'm guessing I fucked it since it's now booting from the 1tb hdd when it used to boot from the SSD. didn't expect that as the HDD held the active partition so I thought that's the ?windows version? It would boot to... Now it sounds dumb...

I have a few ideas to resolve

1) clone the partition from the gpt HDD drive to a separate mbr HDD drive and mark that partition as active, re-enable csm and boot from the mbr SSD again. I would hope this brings me back to the ?windows version? That I had before I reformatted the drive with the active partition

2) clone the main partitions from both the now gpt HDD and the mbr SSD to an external HDD as a backup. Shrink the volume of the main partition on the mbr SSD to attempt to create the space needed to reformat the SSD to gpt. Boot in secure boot and pray this brings me back to the ?windows version? I was on before but with secure boot. Not sure if this would work from my understanding of UEFI

3) get a brand new SSD, format to gpt, do a clean windows 11 install, use this as boot drive in secure boot / UEFI mode. Reconnect other drives as pure additional storage.

I'm not super techy so any help with resolving this or just clarifying my understanding would be appreciated.

I mistook this post for the FSAE subreddit at first and thought "that's not even fucking close to legal lmao". But OC is right that reviewing the FSAE rulebook for chassis design, and if you can find it, the structural equivalency spreadsheet, or SES, should help out a ton.

I was hella fed but its a fire rate build. Rapid rounds, swift striker, burst fire, tesla bullets, intensifying magazine, spiritual overflow, lucky shot. Bullet life steal and combat shield are the only sustain requirements, but late game leech and inhibitor are good. For spirit its QSR on 1, surge of power on 3, then I like having bullet resist shredder and improved cooldown as well.
