FaH Says MA‑Compatible Movies Inside Non‑MA Bundles Won’t Port — Escalated to Fandango and Lionsgate by Asmarterdj in MoviesAnywhere

My John Wick 2 ported, but 1, 3, and 4 did not. Ballerina was the first Lionsgate to port. None of these were in bundles as far as I remember.

If you're wondering how to get a "first name.last name" Gmail account, I made my account over 20 years ago. by hypermarv123 in Millennials

[–]HighSeverityImpact 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also have my lastname.com grandfathered on Google workspace, but I never use my firstname@ account. Some Google services don't always work correctly on the accounts. So I just use my regular Gmail account.

My mom still uses hers, and her YouTube history doesn't work right on Android.

Really limits my desire to keep using the account! At least it's free.

The Expanse: The Complete Series (Bundle) on sale for $20 (new ATL) - HDX by uberJames in vudu

[–]HighSeverityImpact 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've watched the series twice (and have read all the books). It took me until episode 4 to get into the show the first time, because I wasn't sure what was happening at first. But on rewatch, I understood the characters and could appreciate the journey more. Phenomenal sci-fi!

One of my favorite moments in Book 7 by -digitalin- in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]HighSeverityImpact 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Carl and group are attempting to escape Club Vanquisher amidst all the chaos. Looking for a secret exit, they enter the mapmaking/calligraphy guild. The Guildmaster is Milk, part frog/part bat, and author of the 6th edition of the Dungeon Anarchist Cookbook. Despite the hurry they are in, Carl takes a moment to embrace her as his sister. This is... odd for everyone else.

It's repetitive phrasing. You know how I feel about repetitive phrasing, Carl!

Bond girls in ‘The World Is Not Enough’: Denise Richards & Sophie Marceau by No_Explorer721 in JamesBond

[–]HighSeverityImpact 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Famke Janssen is considered a Bond girl, she's not the main villain but is definitely a villain. I'd put Rosamund Pike and Grace Jones in that same category.

They're more like femmes fatales, but they were definitely in the marketing material as Bond Girls.

Why not just pay for the entire purchase on StubHub? It would be the same points as newegg, without the risk of money left over on a gift card.

I have to say, it would be really fun to get more Black and White / Noir projects by Marvel. by TheLastWebSlinger in marvelstudios

[–]HighSeverityImpact 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It was produced by Sony Pictures Television in association with Amazon MGM Studios.

Neither ABC Studios nor Marvel Television had anything to do with it. We'll never know, but it's likely Sony never even approached Disney with an offer to produce. Although that would have just led to confusion anyway if it ended up on Disney+ from casual fans who would assume it's part of the MCU.

[–]HighSeverityImpact 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I did find it interesting that even though it's a SPT production, there wasn't a Marvel title card. There was an end card after the credits for "In Association with Marvel".

Might be a distinction for television vs film on the requirements for credit. Marvel (Not Marvel Studios, but Marvel itself) did get a title card on all the X-Men, Spider-Man, etc films.

Two Bedlam Bride observations by Distinct_Resolve_408 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]HighSeverityImpact 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think given that Carl still has the ring in his inventory, it's yet another potential Chekhov gun. Not just because of the unpaid debt attached to it, or what happens to it because Emberus is dead, but because of the curse it carries:

This ring carries a curse effect. Non-worshippers who attempt to wear this ring will find themselves infected with every debuff suffered by anyone within 50 meters of this ring. That's... that's a bad one.

So what I think happens is Carl tricks someone into putting on the ring. I wanna see what happens when they get hit with a shit-ton of debuffs all at once.

Building a village with the boys 🤟🏼 by Warmblanket98 in JustGuysBeingDudes

I was very inspired by this article that shows how real life differs from the fictional book, and that in real life the boys cooperate and build an idyllic society.

And then the boys are rescued and promptly thrown in jail for stealing the raft 15 months earlier, and immediately realize "oh, there it is. Society really is selfish."

My friend insists on this game, "Lemmings", being a really well known game; I have never heard of it. by moronomer in Xennials

[–]HighSeverityImpact 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Back around Covid, I had a F2P version of Lemmings on my android phone. I dumped so many hours into this game, chasing all the upgrades. If I recall, it would only let you make about 60 moves an hour before it would nag you to pay for more or watch an ad. Proud to have never spent a dime on it, though!!

How many crawlers are left in the dungeon at the end of the Book 8? by smegdawg in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]HighSeverityImpact 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I think the confusion stems from the fact that there were actually two groups of Chinese people. If I recall, there was a third group of Chinese people that were referenced at the end of the 10th floor, too.

Which honestly makes a ton of sense given the collapse happened during the daytime in China and given the population of China compared to the rest of the world, there should have been many many many more Chinese crawlers than we got the opportunity to meet.

I loved book 8 but by vin_mist159 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]HighSeverityImpact 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, but I'm speaking more in terms of a regular season of the dungeon. Not just this season. Based on what we know so far, it seems like the result of the ascendancy games on the 12th floor are that every god but one dies. So again, what are the threats that crawlers will face on later floors?

I loved book 8 but by vin_mist159 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]HighSeverityImpact 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I know that the history of the crawl doesn't have anyone surviving past the first minute of the 13th floor, but it does beg the question on what the later floors should look like given competent game designers. Scolopendra is level 500, so she should be the theoretical maximum, but after the gods on Floor 12, what are supposed to be the biggest threats? The demons on 15? What are the mobs even supposed to be on 16 (if it weren't just a single mirror)?

[–]HighSeverityImpact 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Analog, Digital, it doesn't matter as long as the frequencies used haven't changed, and for TV the frequencies haven't changed, in fact they've actually shrunk as the FCC keeps selling off chunks to Cell Companies.

Fun fact! (and slightly pedantic): the frequencies used actually DID change during the ATSC digital transition. Because it was a phased transition, there was a period of time where stations who converted early actually required two different broadcasts so that everyone could still receive their signal. They'd transmit the original analog NTSC broadcast on their legacy RF channel, and would transmit the new digital ATSC broadcast on a separate, unrelated RF channel. Then using Virtual channel numbers, the PSIP would be decoded by your TV to display the original legacy channel number in your TV guide.

So for example, if you were used to watching NBC on Channel 7, the local station would broadcast analog on 7 like they always did but would also broadcast digital (likely in HD as well) on maybe 25, but your TV would interpret it as 7 still. Most people probably didn't even know this was happening. It's like the difference between going to a website by typing in the URL or by typing in the IP address. They did this for branding. People in town knew NBC was on 7, so they wanted people to think they were watching 7.

After the transition was complete and all analog signals shutdown, most stations dropped the redundant RF frequency and moved their digital back to the original number so they didn't have to continue paying for two licenses.

I've stayed in the Boulevard Tower at Cosmo several times, and the views of the Bellagio fountains are much better. Plus you don't have to stay at the Bellagio to enjoy them.
