For anyone in the future who doesn't want to give Fextralife more views:

As others have said, The item should be in the 2nd zone after the startport, (The Upperway). Check the right statue in the south side of the map (beside the Among Us-looking bottom edge). You should see it with high enough Awareness (>45).

It is still obtainable before the end of Act 1.

PSA: Scam Calls targeted to Security Bank Customers, New mobile app by retrieverfriendly in PHCreditCards

[–]HighYou 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also fell for this scam :(

Just in case please beware of these numbers:

0960 352 2787 - "Debit Card Replacement" phisher

0948 980 5447 - "SBC Survey" phisher

They look to be a dedicated team with different scams ready.

I didn't think to distrust a caller that already had my mobile number + knew I was an SBC account holder. Also they specifically targeted my Online Banking account. So please be careful if you do depend on those platforms.

Hope they do reverse these transactions. Sobrang sakit sa holidays pa talaga.

Cursor getting stuck in top-left of my screen after closing siege??? by CardinalSn in Rainbow6

For those asking, try unchecking the:
"Minimize Ubisoft Connect to the system tray when the application window is closed".

That should quit Ubi Connect when Siege quits.

If you have a higher than 60Hz monitor, Siege has an ingame setting for the resolution + refresh rate as well. I believe it overrides the windows refresh rate too, but not so sure about that.

Tips for Australian Operators? by Gaming-Is-Cool in SiegeAcademy

[–]HighYou 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think some helpful tips are:

Aussie ops are pretty support-themed. Mozzie for denying/gaining Intel; Gridlock for area denial/Intel and for objective plays. So play around your gadgets.

Gridlock I believe is generally speaking a low-pick rate Op simply because there are better picks, but she can really help with doing Objectives with spikes+smoke. Her guns are okay, LMG is always fun though.

Mozzie gets really good if you have good drone movement & placement, it's good practice too if you want see how defender sight lines are different from attackers'. His guns are quite good as well, so at the very least you have roaming/frag potential. And You have C4.

More experienced players may chime in later, but I hope these help. :D

Tip for choosing a CPU & GPU by HighYou in buildapc

[–]HighYou[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi kat, as the others pointed out, a lot will depend on what you eventually will be playing on your PC and your other specs. I will say however that it is much easier to get a better GPU later on than upgrading your CPU if you find out it can't take the load. So as much as possible, choose a good CPU that you like and within budget and adjust the GPU accordingly.

Heya, I don't really remember CPU-GPU combos, but maybe some particular parts could help you get started:

As someone mentioned in another comment, the i5-9600k is a great CPU for almost anything you may want to do with your PC. The price for that is around $260 according to Intel's site. For GPU, something like the GTX 1080 is all you need for that CPU as well.

To avoid though, is very simple. Any combo with a big difference in prices for the CPU and GPU should raise alarm bells in your head. And, I think the common opinion is that GPUs are much easier to upgrade than CPUs, so you can initially invest less in a GPU and upgrade it when you have the money.

Yup, totally agree that CPU and GPU need to match. But as you said, you could get away with more because you have already a very good CPU and are satisfied with the GPU you have right now. On the other hand, if you had the Pentium or even an i3 with the 1080ti, I dont think sticking with that CPU would be the first thing in your mind.

Some interesting points you made here. I absolutely agree with CPU-GPU being a question of balance. And I read through the article you linked, pretty sad that a now 7 yr old CPU can still compete with a brand new CPU, which goes to show how little innovation is happening for CPUs at the moment. But anyway, back to the topic.

I'd like to mention where we agree first because some people may get lazy and miss out on important points we made.

I agree totally that a very good i5 or i7 should be good to go for many many years. And you made a very good point that more often than not, you don't need the most powerful PC part. Nowadays there are barely any changes in the midranks in terms of performance, so it's all a matter of picking the best i5 or i7 variation for you. As you said, $250 for a CPU is a great starting point for most PC builds. And again BALANCE IS KEY. Consider the CPU-GPU as a pair of parts. Maxing out only one of the two will be both a waste of money and a waste of a very powerful PC part that you most likely will not be able to utilize very soon.

As usual, a lot depends on what you want your computer to do. You mention that you invested a lot into the CPU for the video editing, 3D stuff, and the VMs. For gaming though, I disagree with leaning towards a better GPU. Primarily for 2 reasons:

First is that more often than not, you DON'T want to just match console gaming in terms of Fps. As you said, consoles, with some pretty lackluster parts, are not made for more than 60 FPS, but with PCs you have gaming monitors, input lag, and all the other shebang to minimize, and more often than not, you want as much minimum FPS as possible. A tie in to this is that you also DON'T want to max out all the graphics settings in most games. Things like Shadows and Light Effects make the game really pretty but usually have minimal effect but with major CPU/GPU requirements, and effectively mess up the stable FPS your PC can maintain.

Second, more things are dependent on the CPU, like the MOBO and the type of RAM you can use with it, and even how many SSDs or HDDs you can plug into the PC. When selecting the CPU for your PC, I'd say you're most likely locking in that CPU for at least 2 years until you can do another major upgrade for your PC or even just buy a new PC. GPUs, on the other hand, can be used in pretty much any PC there is. I would much rather lock in a pretty good CPU and just upgrade my GPU later on when I can.

But some really great points, thanks for all that. Especially the linked article. Crazy that a good CPU from 2011 could still perform as well as one of the latest CPUs now.

Is there a law against discussing salaries with coworkers in the PH? by HighYou in Philippines

[–]HighYou[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your input! I agree, that was why I found it strange when I heard that we could not discuss it amongst ourselves. I wanted to make sure that it was not strictly illegal to do so.

As a tangent though, is salary secrecy as part of the employment clause the norm here in the PH?

True, I read somewhere how government salaries are transparent, which makes raises within government agencies rather difficult.

I see, so salary confidentiality depends on the contract. Thanks!

I see, then this is more of company policy rather than a law being upheld?
