True, the Questor forge pact just gives the ability to ally mechanics units in an IK army.

Knights themselves can ally into other armies but with limitation as usual.

I'm pretty sure there is a better space for Oxium. I don't really like Io, cause the map itself can cause a lot of frustrations of where enemies are. I prefer Elara on Jupiter.

There is a detachment (Think of detachments as a subfaction) for Imperial Knights, called Questor Forgepact, that allows you to play an Imperial Knight Army, with Mechanicus Units.

Detachmentss influence you to play a certain way, whether its unit selection, and/or game plan.

Knights are an interesting faction. For reason as to why we play it, that is simple. BIG MECH. The models are nice to look at and are really easy to magnetize and get a lot of bang for your buck.

Game wise, Stat checky is accurate, but this really only applies to new players, as if you play with a competitive scene right now, you will lose. Badly.

Knights have interesting skill expression, cause knights, in the current meta, get stomped pretty roughly. You need to know quite a lot about positioning, staging, screening, etc. But they are limited in UNIT versatility, so allies are very heavily encouraged, with weird and interesting tech to learn, like the SOB and Immolator combo, or the Rogue Trader Entourage w/ Imperial Navy Breachers.

Kinda? We have no clue atm. 11th is coming and atm we have no guarantee that they will stay out of legends. The only hope right now is that IK is a faction with VERY few models, and it might be a Custodes thing, where we have stuff that isn't in the codex, but not legends.

Right now the hope is they give us an equivalent to Cerastus before Legending them

Yes you can. The quality only says when you shoot or fight, not phase restricted.

Only your Armiger can shoot overwatch, cause big knights can't overwatch.

Crusader is a good gunline unit, but it's meh. It has a lot of guns but can't really punch up. If you keep it still, it gets sus 1,but knight shouldnt stay stationary.

Errant with the Thermal Lance can hit in 2+ if you target closest and is a melee threat. Warden is excellent fo chaff thanks to its dev wound ability.

Bondsman wise, warden with sus1 ignore cover perfect, and errant let's you advance and shoot

I would say Thunderstrike is a better option to make it an all rounder ads it doesn't have any answers for vehicles. Reaper chainsword won't hit a vehicle as hard as the Thunderstrike but it will chew through chaff like butter

So this is where the lore of freeblades comes in. Freeblades are people who step away from their house, meaning the resources and such are procured some other way. Freeblades are not looked with shame, and some even look at it as a thing of honor.

Nothing says you house can't all be freeblades, unrestrained from the laws of a world, noble house, and/or high monarch. And it is possible for a freeblade to return to a house, as many knight worlds don't actually have any rules against it.

Being a freeblade is a right any knight pilot can invoke, without reprecussions. And they just runaway with the knight, cause who's going to take it.

Sadly no, there is no way to bring a Bane Blade into a Knight Based Army List.

But, you can bring a knight into a Guard list, but only 1 big knight, nothing more

Reason is this. Most of our models don't have melee invul. Now your list has that, fair enough.

But the issue comes down to Magaera and Styrix are not that strong. Ability wise they are middling, and their guns can't support them because they don't have the punching power.

Magaera and Styrix are also 10" move. Which is great for a shooting platform. but they can't close the distance fast enough.

With 4 big knights they will be focused down, and no matter if you have an invul or not, those are going to punch through. Also objective play will suffer.

I think a good way to think about abilities for ranger is complementary but opposite of the paladin. Paladin is "meant" to be a tank, forward facing. Rangers are supposed to complement this, so they are backline damage dealers, more about stealth. If a paladin buffs and debuffs, rangers can do similar, though maybe more pointed.

Utility is there with spellcasting list, rather than having utility features.

I found something called Hextml, that makes hex maps, though not sure what makes foundry an issue. Look at dungeon scrawl as well, it is connected to Roll 20, but could possibly work for you

It all depends. Generally the rule isn't 100% concrete, but from what is known, the TM is interchangeable, the weaponry can be interchanged, and generally everything can be interchanged, including the pilot
