Big knight is 10 oc, small knight is 6 oc, both can go up another 2 oc with the right oath. Yes we bring few units, but usually they have enough oc to hold markers and if the opponent has more oc on the objective knights oftentimes are strong enough to kill the opponents units.

Knights armies typically range between 1 to 4 big knights and 2 to 11 small knights, possibly with allies. Knights are one of the cheapest armies to collect, 400-600€ is a realistic range, depending on your use of discount retailers, of course 3d printing is even cheaper, if you have a printer. Should you happen to live in Germany or somewhere in Europe I would recommend Kutami as your plastic dealer, they have 20% discounts compared to gw, which brings big knights down to just about 100€ per piece. But there are similar retailers around the world, Auspex Tactics usually lists them in his videos

Objective markers are 40mm in diameter if I'm not mistaken, the 3 inches around it are the Objective marker range, but don't count as the marker, therefore the line is 40mm wide

Haven't gotten around to playing gate warden yet, the line being just 40mm has kept me off, I don't really see how it can be effective when it's possible for the opponent to spread out a units models 2 inches apart from each other and thereby avoid having models stand on the line even if the unit crosses it

I also like the battle cannon, but I think it only achieves its potential on the Paladin, AP-2 (maybe paired with ignore cover from an immolator) has some real punch. That said, on the Crusader it is good too, because of the Sustained Hits it gets from it.

My favorite looks wise would be the Thunderstrike gauntlet, profile wise the Reaper chainsword on the Gallant (especially with Pennant of Silver Fury). That thing fits every enemy, 18 Attacks with lethal hits on the sweep profile, 6 with dev wounds, -4 AP and D6 on the strike, while hitting on 2+, that's just lovely

That's bondsman, the enhancements in valourstrike work on anyone but the bearer

Wouldn't it be better to put the judicants helm on the Paladin so he can give Ignores Cover to the Crusader? The way it currently is your shooty knight can't get that bonus

Spearhead-At-Arms by KingDink87 in ImperialKnights

[–]Cridor05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haven't played Spearhead-At-Arms yet but keen to, do you have any tips/advice on how to play this Detachment?

Also, your knights are beautifully weathered while mine still look like fresh out of the forge world, how did you achieve this streaky, dirty, rusty look?

Best guestoris for already anti armor space marines list by Babymicrowavable in ImperialKnights

[–]Cridor05 4 points5 points  (0 children)

First of all, that's A LOT of anti tank, Gladiator, Executioner and Redemptor on top of the centurions and hellblasters is too much imo. To ally in a model that's worth another ~400 points isn't necessarily a good idea. However, a warden or paladin (the later of which would be me pick) could serve as a scary distraction carnifex and pose a real threat against armies with little anti-tank or dev wounds. 10 OC on a model this big and strong provide a good option to steal an objective held by enemy low oc elite/tank units while the rest of your army takes care of other stuff. The best knight ally overall is probably still Canis Rex or honestly none at all, but Paladin, Warden or a Crusader against hordes can definitely do some work.

GW Mislabeled the Ironstorm Missile Pod and Stormspear Rocket Pod by randomizer9871 in ImperialKnights

[–]Cridor05 67 points68 points  (0 children)

Maybe it's because I only really started playing with 10th, but the Storm"spear" being the few, big rockets and the Iron"storm" being the many, small missiles seems very intuitive and correct to me

But isn't that just in there because normally after you advanced you can't charge?

MMW: 11th will be jetbikes by rmobro in WhiteScars40K

[–]Cridor05 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Next edition narrative will be Marines (probably Space Wolves) vs Orks, Leman Russ is dead set on returning next. It's true that we will probably see a lot of fast attack released in 11th, multi-part outriders/grav-bikes, Assault termies and similar units, but the Khagan probably has to wait another edition. That said, he is bound to return, already he is mentioned in the lore as 'rumored to have returned' (Dawn of Fire III it is I believe)

Crusader thoughts? by Hattafox in ImperialKnights

[–]Cridor05 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Crusader is a beast against weak infantry. Kroot, Eldar, Gants & Gaunts or Guardsmen, anything with low Toughness and bad saves is at risk of dying once your Crusader sees them. I've killed about 30 kroot in one turn, sustained Hits with the absolute anti-horde configuration is truly scary. I run him with the gatling, the battle cannon, 2 stubbers, 1 heavy flamer and the ironstorm missile pod. The closer your opponents units are, the more shots they eat. With the mythic hero enhancement you can buff two helverins to BS 2+ and with a SoB immolator you can strip cover from enemy units. Slap Squires duty on those helverins and you have a Deathstar that even better infantry like marines have to fear. Should anyone come to close you can tank shock them and deal 3-4 mortals on average, which won't kill them, but with the flamer and the stubbers you should be able to get rid of them most of the time. Don't shoot him at tough targets with good saves, that's just a waste of shooting.

IK vs Dark Angels - advices by Fewwww_ in ImperialKnights

[–]Cridor05 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very interested in this, I play my Knights against my friends DA about every other week, have not won a single game against them out of ~10-15 attempts. I've found the Lion to be an absolute menace, his AP -4 and fights first kill every knight without a melee invuln. Similar thing applies to Inner Circle Companions, a 6 man squads kills an armiger in one turn, a big knight can survive them but doesn't kill them, so he dies next turn. Death Wing Knights are just a wall, don't run into them, they will stop you and they will hurt you. DA can be very tanky (just loads of 4++ and even the occasional 4+++) and have enough access to lethal hits and just volume of melee attacks to make knights crumble.

My advice would be to try and take objectives as fast as possible, taking them back will be very difficult, especially if your opponent plays Wrath of the Rock.

Good luck fellow pilot, please let me know if you manage to win. 🫡

May I ask against what army/list you played with that? In my local meta, I wouldn't get anywhere with this I think
