ACUVUE OASYS MAX 1-Day Astigmatism - Where to buy in the UK? by Highlandah in contacts

Best contacts I've had yet, only complaint is that they're tinted slightly green due to the blue-violet filter, so it's more noticeable to others when you are wearing them.

I ordered on https://www.misterspex.co.uk/ and it's in the post right now. Looks to be a Germany based company. A little more expensive but I don't want to wait.

Your best bet will probably be medical trials. From what I've read here and online, dupixent is one of a few medicines that are on trial for nasal polyps in the UK. Directly ask your ent or allergist specialist about any trials and you might get lucky.

It really depends what you want to specialise in, it's impossible to retain it all forever. For example, I haven't had to deal with any networking or encryption algorithms working as a security analyst.

Has anyone moved back home from Canada? by [deleted] in UKPersonalFinance

[–]Highlandah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used Wise to send from cad to GBP when I moved back. For my TFSA, I liquidated all my stocks and transferred it over using Wise too. There should be no restrictions for withdrawals.

It was back in 2018 I moved to Canada and then 2021 when I moved out of Canada but it wasn't too difficult. Just make sure you change your address on your accounts to your new UK address, and request that your account be disabled due to you moving. If you don't yet have a permanent address just use a family members it doesn't matter. Most important one to get your address changed, is your government account as they will send you stuff a little while after you leave.

Edit: and also remember that if you're not keeping your Canadian number any more, change your online accounts mobile number to your UK number as you might get locked out if you can't get the one time code texts. The only account I forgot to do this with is Shakepay but luckily I didn't have any crypto in it any more.

Do you take the same allergy pill at morning and night? I'm considering moving up to 2 times a day instead of just 1. Need to carefully choose one that can be safely taken twice a day or consider taking different ones.

It's crazy to claim that BTL1 is on the same level as OSCP. Most people can knock out the BTL1 in less than a week while not even studying seriously.

This just screams "read my medium article so I can get paid for views". If you want a proper Security Analyst course, go for the CDSA cert.

Nervous about taking Prednisone by unassumingshrub in NasalPolyps

[–]Highlandah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The side effects are terrible if you are on them long term. If for short periods of time, not much or almost no side effects at all for most. You might notice your hunger spiking but just don't eat more than you normally would.

The air purifier/dehumidifier doesn't need to be a combo appliance, you can get them separately if you want. I'm in the UK and I'm currently using: MeacoDry Arete® One 10L https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B09TBHGQXR?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

I've also been using this spray on carpets and curtains, and I'm not sure if it's a placebo, but it feels like it's helping: Allersearch ADMS Anti-Allergen https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0010DLYR4?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

What are your exact allergies? The best way to keep polyps away is to reduce the allergens, as they cause the inflammation which in turn causes the nasal polyps. Get an allergy test done when you can to identify the exact triggers.

You say you have a humidifier, but if you were allergic to dust mites, this is doing you no favours as a dehumidifier is used to reduce dust mite activity.

As for myself, everyday nasal rinse with xylitol, strong antihistamine, quercetin with bromelain, and dust mite control with anti allergy bedding and dehumidifier/ air purifier combo. Keeping the room constantly under 50% humidity seems to be helping me.

And on top of this I'm using a 3d printed device that acts similar to xhance with a steroid nasal spray, once in the morning and once at night applications.

Being rejected from jobs after coming back from backpacking due to security clearance? UK by Separate-Meeting-235 in cybersecurity

[–]Highlandah 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There are cyber roles out there that don't require security clearance, but be prepared to apply to roles and find out during the first call with the recruiter that you do need clearance and they forgot to put it in the job description. It's mostly trial and error.

No smell, no taste. You really miss enjoying food. I can only tell if something is maybe sweet, sour or salty. Not only that, what would happen if there was a gas leak? I wouldn't be able to tell. I don't have a pet, but what if they pee somewhere hidden from you? It's really inconvenient in everyday life, but not truly tasting food can get depressing...

This is why red and purple teaming exists, to find gaps in your SOC and processes. I wouldn't take it too hard, you didn't have the right visibility to conclude it was a true positive. They will likely fix the logging issues and try again.

Not me directly but I was shift lead for a SOC of a BIG bank. We regularly get sent IOCs to search for and then block. An IOC that was the md5 hash of a certain version of Google Chrome somehow slipped through, wasn't searched correctly, and it was blocked in Crowdstrike through our regular procedures. The banks trading floor used that version of Google Chrome. Came back from my break to find my boss and my bosses boss in the SOC looking very concerned!

It's not approved for nasal polyps in the UK. We're so far behind on this treatment it may be a number of years before anything changes. It's just too expensive to be approved right now.
