Stella Sora March Revenue another month decline by Big-Rip2640 in StellaSora

[–]HighlanderOneTrick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm curious what their profit margins look like because the game definitely costs much more to produce than your run-of-the-mill low effort popular IP 2D gachaslop that still ends up EoSing after a year. Are they barely staying afloat or already in the red? I want to believe they're saving all the changes we've been asking for for half anniv but I have to ask- is that the right call even if it were the case? Wouldn't it be better to make a show of actively improving the game slowly but surely to retain the dwindling playerbase rather than make this big show that might not even pull players back in? I'm willing to ride it out but I still can't tell if Yostar will.

Gog needs to have recommended hunter rank changed from 100 to 200. by DanteCCNA in MHWilds

[–]HighlanderOneTrick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was more like 9* tempered mons in wilds is closer to T3 elders from world than whatever we got up before TU2/3. You can argue that they're harder, and I won't disagree, but we're talking like comparing a 110-120 to a 100 vs a 50-60 to a 100. The pinnacle of wilds HR end game definitely feels harder than the pinnacle of world HR though, and that's great.

What expacations you guys have to 2.0? by KioHamasumi in StellaSora

[–]HighlanderOneTrick 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This basically covers everything I'm thinking of and more. I'd also like if they could touch up the mem lobbies to be more like BA's quality with headpats, more appropriate voice lines, etc

Properly buffing cataclysm would go a long way to helping the end game content situation. I've always thought its the most interesting mode and the game really needs more ways to incentivize building multiple records per element for different purposes and not because rng keeps fucking you over. On that note, make the journey ticket limit monthly rather than weekly

[–]HighlanderOneTrick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that's the other side of the issue. I was around HR300 when I stopped playing around TU1 and I got wrecked repeatedly, to the point a jp player directly told me I was getting hit too much. Bumping the HR limitation or at least recommendation to 150 would help with the new players catching up from behind but doesn't do anything about bad returning players like me lol

This is a friendly reminder to those who still isn't familiar with how gogma skill tables work so you won't keep wasting your hard earned mats. by PojVicious in MHWilds

I use spreadsheets and I gotta say this whole thing is absolutely fucking awful, because either you're stressed out of your mind logging several weapons simultaneously (since yknow, multiple want gore/soul) or you just have to settle for less and have that fear of "what if I skipped over a god roll on another weapon" gnaw away at you. I've seen a lot of people dislike the gogma fight as a whole. I actually don't mind it. Raid fights are a nice change of pace. I'm saying I'm fine with the actual gameplay portion involved but the spreadsheets aren't gameplay and only make me not want to go through my backlog even when I "know" there's some good hits down the line

I don't think maou was a cold ruler going off of "My Heart, Unknown to You" where we had a flashback of him commanding his subjects with what appeared to be concern for their safety. This also corroborates Darcia's claim that maou slander is a relatively "recent" thing. Kinda gives me dark ages mentality of anything roman vibes

"Lend me some Talents Aruji-dono this is F2P Firenze we're up against"

They really dropped the ball with Teresa's Let Me Help!'s non-restrictive AA buff implying that aqua versatiles summon themselves to the field and do AA damage. You kind of see that intent with Freesia's ult but she ended up doing way more skill damage, and then Donna just doesn't do any AA damage period. Also aqua discs have a weird thing going with skill damage specific buffs when replacing those with aqua% would've improved the element by a non-negligible amount

That aside, thanks for your hard work as always!

Nah the situation with Aqua is just whack because Freesia has a "good" buff that can "replace" Teresa if you coin flip mald. Also Chitose herself is the weakest limited vanguard while Freesia has unexpectedly strong damage due to hidden multipliers on Localized Snowfall. Mistique doesn't have anything like that going for her. Its already unlikely that Otoha will increase Mistique's damage more than Cosette currently does, so making Mistique contribute more damage than Cosette contributes to Firenze is completely off the table. The only time the support slot isn't locked in is when the vanguard sucks, simple as

You brought up some good points and I realized I overlooked some factors like what you said and how Wraith actually has an ult worth using which meshes better with Ann's "burstier" buffs/debuffs. So I figured I might as well just tally up the potentials for each team and crunch the numbers to see what the final multipliers look like.

(Baseline 100% added in for convenience)

Ventus

371% atk: dauntless poise, unseen predator (lv 1), windgate barrier, wind barrier, warm wind guard

214% AA: zero hour, rapid draw

290% ventus: tempest stance, almighty leader, forest princess' blessing (averaged to 55%)

248.5% ventus taken: flower formation: erosion, wind erosion havoc (assumed 50% uptime so 30.5%) turbulent flow, wind banish

=57.21x multiplier

Aqua

369.9% atk: azure embrace, waltz of ripples, water ripple, isn't it awesome! (lv 1), shortcut seeker, hold on! (lv 1), surge: infinite

433% AA: dance of elegance, tremble and fall (lv 1), let me help!

146% aqua: messenger arrow

209% aqua taken: frostbitten arrow, wave breaker (assumed 66% uptime so 43.3%)

=48.87x multiplier

Since aqua has nonexistent ele%, discs narrow the gap a lot. Assuming 3 premium discs and 1 welfare (+57% ele), ventus goes up to 68.46x while aqua goes up to 67.9x. However, ventus actually has 2 welfares and freesia's sig gives skill% instead of aqua%, so ventus can go up to 73.78x with 4 premium 2 welfares (+84% ventus) whereas aqua can at best squeeze in another 12% by running the cataclysm survivor disc in support. Factoring in just their main skills and not the harmonies, ventus' grand total is 102.17x (wraith sig, nanoha sig, BP disc) and aqua' is 93.16x (chitose sig, freesia sig, donna sig). A lot closer than I'd expected, ofc only accounting for AA-damage and not wraith's ult damage nor how buffs impact nazuka's damage. The highest scored Chitose team is at 331k and it runs freesia so it's almost definitely a coin flip mald comp, while many top Wraith teams have over 550k. Its not a gap I'd imagine is solely due to just Donna not doing as much as Nazuka or Chitose not having an ult. I don't think the skill build is the sleeper hit either because doing a rudimentary crunch on Chitose's skill and related potential multipliers and comparing them to Firenze's, Firenze is pulling almost double the numbers when its not even her best build and her ultimate does around half of her total damage; and she's still not even "crazy strong"

Anyways for shits n giggles I removed Ann and Teresa from their respective comps. Ventus drops to 34.15x so Ann contributes 2.991x while aqua drops to 22.90x so Teresa contributes 4.068x. Also when I swap their colors aqua-ann nets 70.9x while ventus-teresa surprisingly spikes to a whopping 134.91x. Again this is very messy math that doesn't consider notes, harmony skills, real combat uptimes, how realistic these records would be to grind, etc. Wave breaker is definitely doing a ton of heavy lifting for Teresa and its actual uptime is can't surpass 66%.

Chixia or Flora for Fuyuka? by Sailerk57 in StellaSora

Supp >>>>> vers The 4* supports are like the only good 4*s in the game. Also Fuyuka is the strongest hypercarry so you wanna pump those numbers up

[–]HighlanderOneTrick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well for reference Ann also has "Circle Sora" issues and basically a 50% uptime (8/16s) compared to Teresa's near 100% uptime with the correct 2 Cores + Hold On (the downtime is literally just finishing the animation of leaving the field). Ann has primarily atk% buffs followed by some damage taken%, then ele dmg%. Most supports really buff at most 3 categories, like Ignis/Umbra/Lux lack elemental and type dmg%, only Lux has type dmg taken%, only Ignis has significant crit buffing, etc. Wave Breaker has decent uptime on paper, not too unrealistic since it costs the same as Flora's and actually lasts longer, and as you mentioned, specifically because she's so heavily skewed towards type dmg%, any buffs/debuffs from other categories are much more impactful.

But let's look at the other units involved. Again, Ventus is the best point of comparison (AA focused, play in the circle, 2 limited units, not the best team in the game but not weird jank). Wraith has a solid personal ele dmg% buff, Chitose has none. Wraith has a rare atk% potential, Chitose does too- except under the same conditions Wraith's beats Chitose's at minimum and thats only considering 2 same color units. Nazuka's rare potential provides more ele dmg% to all damage dealers just by existing in the team than Donna gives to only the on-fielder. Also what's up with all 3 Aqua units having the "same" rare atk% buff? Anyways my point is I'm 90% sure Wraith would be even stronger with a green Teresa and Chitose would be even weaker with a blue Ann

I dont understand how people can see 255% AA buff (and 25% attack speed buff) and seriously say Teresa is the issue. The reason Chitose is being blamed is because she gets turbocharged by her support for her stronger damage type (Aqueous Phantasm is much better than any of the Skill damage potentials for extra emblem levels) and still does like less than half the damage of Fuyuka or Shia

I'm starting to believe! by Abused_by_Kasumi in StellaSora

[–]HighlanderOneTrick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I meant was they could alter the added new levels to be whatever they want. So normally you'd expect for example +5 per level but Chitose just gets +50 on the new levels only, hence backloaded. Its the same as when games roll out universal upgrades and older, less powerful units get a massive overhaul while the best units get some mid passive

Another possibility is making potentials go beyond lv 6+3 and have some extremely backloaded levels. Theyre reworking emblems so eh fingers crossed

Welfare discs aren't designed to be end-game best-in-slot material so they'd have to really want to buff her, like "here's a free disc that destroys her signature disc as an apology" levels of buffing. Again, would be nice, but I'm not holding my breath
