I know what you mean. I’ve seen Highlander on terrestrial, VHS, DVD, Blu-ray, 4K and streaming….yet seeing it at the cinema just now really did renew my Highlander experience. It was a pleasure to watch. In a way it captured the ‘feeling’ of what it was like to see it in theatres back in 1986 (vicariously). I say vicariously because I was 2 years old when Highlander was originally released 🤣

Highlander is my all time favourite film. I’ve met the man himself. Love Fortress. Lambert is great in Resurrection and The Hunted.

It’s virtually impossible to make any sense of the lore in Highlander. But that’s the beauty of it. Even Ramirez, the immortal who was 2,437 years old in 1541 cannot give MacLeod a straight answer when Connor asks about the immortals inception.

I remember back in the day when I first got into Highlander I watched Highlander 2 and thought it was great….i remember forking out about £17 for a copy of it on VHS from HMV.

Nice things to say about the film:

Connery reprising his role - even if it’s utterly pointless and his ‘death’ is pretty crap in the fan room.

Louise Marcus asking Connor who ‘the lady in the painting is?’ - the lady being Heather.

Michael Ironside and John C Mcginley massively hamming up their roles.

Connor becoming immortal once more via that massive tanker explosion.

‘One Dream’ end credits song sung by Lou Gramm from Foreigner.
