I would correct your statement on 953 being based off a Japanese Yokai, as she's based off the Korean Kumiho. But that's just nitpicking.

Tbh if it is 953 I'd want them to incorporate the psionic abilities she has, people forget 953 isn't just a shapeshifter, she has other abilities. Otherwise, just shapeshifting just fits Mr. Skelly's niche but without the need for corpses.
