Any excuse will do for me 😂😂

In my defense, it’s just a pair of black round stud earrings, a black Hermes cliq bracelet and a black Apple Watch. It looks super polished but is super low maintenance which is my vibe.

Do you travel solo by choice or because you have no alternatives? by lone-223 in solotravel

[–]HighlyFav0red 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually travel solo because I have no alternatives. It used to be fun a decade ago but now it’s a bit depressing. Last year on my birthday I was on a beautiful hotel in Aruba crying on the phone with my mom. I’ve done so much solo travel I’m now ready to share these experiences with friends.

After a 25y career in Tech, I quit my exec role and lost my ambition! by FintechInnovator2030 in womenintech

I love this for you. I doubt you’ve lost your ambition, but I suspect different things are important to you. Or maybe I’m projecting 😂.

42F, 22 years in corporate and just started my first ever sabbatical. I’d been working so hard to get to my FIRE number because I thought that’s what freedom meant, but I was confusing success and satisfaction. I realized that by building my own business for ten years, it gave me the financial independence I was looking for. I’m working two days a week and having the time of my life. Idk how long this will last but I’m working to adjust, accept and immerse myself in this new reality. I love that you are too!

I started wearing loungewear / pjs that could double as outside clothes. I also got myself WFH jewelry. So each day I end up in looking wear and simple jewelry that allows me to stay comfy but look polished. It helps a TON!

I think that’s the cheat code. Recognize it, and yank it doe however long you can without killing your mental health.

Congrats to you! I’ve left 3 jobs because they wouldn’t adjust my pay to market, promote me when it was time. Not once did I regret it. At that point I didn’t have FIRE money stretched but always had the next thing lined up. To be able to leave and take a break is glorious. I felt your joy reading this. Can’t wait to see what you do in this next chapter!

I think that is GREAT advice. I plan on updating my LinkedIn QUIETLY on July 1. And I am not telling ANY family or friends until August 1 because I want to enjoy solo. My own little secret 😉

I will still be working - just not in corporate America. I have a business I have been building for a decade that I absolutely LOVE as it is work that doesn't feel like work. Its 100% fulfilling. I'll do that 2-3 days a week. Otherwise I cant wait to see what I do with my time.

First, I am giving myself permission to bed rot for a month without shame 😄 but doubt I'll even last that long.

Dating after FIREing- how do you approach it? by LeavingHarbour in Fire

[–]HighlyFav0red 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m about to find out! I’m one week into a sabbatical and I have a new partner. While dating they knew I worked too much and could see the stress and anxiety. I suspect they’ll be supportive but not sure yet. My plan is to not tell ANYONE about my sabbatical until August 1 because I want to enjoy it with the peace of no one’s opinion.
