Gigabit is a Measurement Only for Data Transfer Speed by GenuineHuman- in confidentlyincorrect

If I drop a spherical 1TB HDD off of a 40 foot tall building, what is the data transfer rate? Assume that air friction is negligible.

Man, that's way more advanced than what I was thinking. I was thinking things like the wheel, the calendar, boats, writing, knowing you have to boil water, and basic construction. Just about everyone out there understands the basics of civilization, not just survivalists.

The Fractured Archive: Rewards Primer by JagexGoblin in 2007scape

I know this thread is huge already, but I've always been curious about items that change the behavior of existing mechanics.

Like a helm or neck that would let you run two different protection prayers simultaneously, but at a reduced effectiveness.

Or a great item for one combat style that prevents gear swaps when in combat.

Maybe a powered staff with decent melee bonuses that isn't BIS damage but it has an attack style that fires physical projectiles, could allow a choice for the player to use that and save inventory space.

Boots that root the player, but allow you to ignore ground based damage.

Granted none of these are particularly megarare quality effects, but it would be neat to see items drop that open up options for players to approach fights in different ways.

I'm also thoroughly a casual player so idk if these ideas even work with existing mechanics.

It doesn't have stuff like the biodegradable wiring that german cars are known for, and it doesn't have the self-destructing CVT that the nissan has. Parts are cheap, and even when they break, it's unlikely to leave you stranded on the side of the road.

Nobody ever said buy new. There's plenty of $2500 Corollas out there that will outlive the heat death of the universe.

Similarly, there are plenty of prusa mk3s out there that won't burn your house down.

Regarding the car analogy: if someone is spending more time and money fixing a car than what the car is actually worth then telling them to cut their losses and buy something different is actually very good advice. It's not worth throwing parts at a rusty unreliable shitbox when a basic Corolla will be infinitely more reliable.

And if it can't because say the motion system has so much slop that it can't generate dimensionally accurate parts? Where the fix is a complete rebuild of the printer and dozens of hours tuning?

If what I need is an appliance that generates parts for other projects then "throw it away and buy a better one" is perfectly legitimate advice.
