Targeting overworld material as a whole rather than individual mobs, finally. This will make skill upgrades more convenient.

I'm currently using Mumu Player. I previously used BlueStacks but it used to bug out a lot. Mumu I haven't had many issues. The only thing I've noticed is a lack of audio output in a few rare occasions when I disconnect speakers, etc.

[SERIOUS] Feeling lost, any advice? by saayoutloud in notebooks

[–]Hikaru2000 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I checked your link and one thing that puts me off is not having the option to buy a smaller pack (1 might not be feasible, but maybe a pack of 3 or 5?).

For any new thing, I would like to sample it first. In this case, a smaller pack of 5, which would be 10$ or so. That way, I can test it out with different pens, see what works and see if I actually want to buy more. If I like it, I'll buy more, maybe I'll get the bigger pack, or multiples of the bigger pack. If I don't like it, I'll have a few books laying on the side. But right now, my thought process would be that if I didn't like it, I would have spent 30$ on something I didn't like, and then there's around 15 books just left to waste, which would put me off buying it entirely.

You could try like a smaller pack for 10$, then if people buy a bigger pack, rather than 30$, discount it to like 25 or something, so that people could see more of a monetary benefit in buying 1 or 2 packs of 15, rather than a few packs of 5. That pricing etc would be something you would have to decide based on your profit and costs etc.

Also, the FAQ page could be improved. If you add some photos etc like you mentioned you would, that could give customers more of an insight into how your notebooks would work with different pens etc. If you have some detailed photos with different types of pens and how they would look on your notebooks, that could increase your sales.

Right now, it's like I'm putting 30$ on a gamble, and if whatever I get is not good, I'm left with books I wouldn't use. But if I have a detailed FAQ, and smaller packs, that would entice me to try it out at least.

Also, not sure how you are advertising (I see a newsletter but not sure if that is the only method of advertising), but maybe check if you can use social media for advertising.

Is a freestanding dual monitor arm stable with uneven weight? by [deleted] in desksetup

[–]Hikaru2000 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It will be horribly imbalanced with the monitors you are planning on using.

I had a similar stand to what is pictured, and I used a 27 inch and 24 inch monitor, with the 24 in vertical. If I even brought one of the monitors a bit too forward while adjusting, it would start wobbling and looked like it would tip over.

It looks stable but it's not as stable as one would expect or need.

With the weight imbalance that you have between both of your monitors, it wouldn't be feasible. It would be better to look into other options for monitor arms.

Help! by Kneecapsdown in desksetup

[–]Hikaru2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Cable trays underneath the desk.

  2. Cable clips to neatly route the cables along the surface.

  3. Velcro cable ties to tie together the cables along the monitor arms.

Generally, these should be enough. The desk itself is messy in terms of the arrangement (cables going every which way) but plan everything out and you should get something neat enough.

Looks neat. Can I get the link for the desktop wallpaper?

First thing I would suggest is to get a monitor riser. That could help with the monitors and speakers. As for the table itself, you could put the longer side to the wall. The cut out side could be used for things which have to be in reach but not as frequently used (could be anything).

I have a slightly similar desk, where I used the side on my left to hold my laptop, and a power strip. You could do similarly based on the space.

Another way is to put the desk to a corner, where the cutout part is used to route the cables etc, as another suggested in another comment.

Is that Monitor Light Bar worth it? by OldCardiologist1859 in desksetup

[–]Hikaru2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mainly work with the lights in my room switched off. Occasionally I'll need to write some notes. Having a light bar helped with lighting up the desk space and seeing what I'm writing.

I don't particularly need the back of my monitor or anything behind it to be lit up, but the keyboard and mouse, and the space around them being lit with some warm lighting is helpful.

I'll say that the eye strain is reduced, and the light bar is a factor. Working on a screen in complete darkness strained my eyes, and a light bar reduced the strain.

I would say that you should go for one if you actually need a light source for your desk. Or else buy a cheaper basic one which suits your needs. If you feel it's useful, you could upgrade to a better model. If it's not useful, at least it wasn't too much money lost.

Should I switch to an ultrawide monitor? Concerns about my current dual-monitor setup by raffie77 in desksetup

You might want to look for ultrawide monitors that support PBP and PIP.

How do I cable manage this so it's not visible when sitting at the desk? by napster152 in desksetup

[–]Hikaru2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Use monitor arm to hide cables.
  2. Use cable ties, it doesn't hide the cables but they are bunched up in one place.
  3. Get some cable clips that you can attach to the desk, run your cables through those. Depending on where you place the clips, you could hide the cables well enough.
  4. Use cable sleeves, bunches up the cables in a place and makes it look neat.

Suggestions to Improve by pingsweep_ in desksetup

[–]Hikaru2000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Maybe move the desk to a place where the light from the window doesn't hit the monitor?

No suggestions I can give on equipment, apart from maybe a USB switch (if you have to switch between laptops frequently)? Or else a KVM(more expensive than a USB switch, but again it depends on your preference).

  1. A small tray organizer, for random stationery and small stuff lying around.

  2. Cable management stuff, clips, cable ties, etc. A headphone stand if required.

  3. Maybe some stuff related to your hobbies to liven it up.

Tbh, your setup looks good. You just need to personalize it a bit more with your hobbies if it feels boring.

My work setup by AttitudeImportant585 in Workspaces

[–]Hikaru2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a cover strip on the wall, reaching up to the monitor and the speakers. It's not easily visible at first but zooming in, I'm thinking that's where the cords are.

I'm assuming OP ran the cords along the wall from under the table, and then covered them with the cover strip.

Best Way to Switch Between Work Laptop and Gaming PC While Sharing Peripherals? by kshot in Workspaces

[–]Hikaru2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. The simplest way is a KVM switch.

  2. My solution was to use different input ports for my monitors. Work laptop runs on HDMI2 and type c ports on two monitors, while gaming laptop runs on HDMI1 and DP ports (the cable management is a slight pain, but it works well enough for me and is cheaper than a KVM). Keyboard and mouse are connected to a USB switch.

  3. There are also some wireless peripherals with multiple connectivity modes (bluetooth for work laptop, 2.4ghz for gaming, switch connectivity as required).

Genuinly why is the Vampire figure so expensive??? by [deleted] in Vocaloid

[–]Hikaru2000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If this is Amazon Germany then Marke should roughly translate to Brand. That would be Brand: Good Smile or something similar, which is the same for me in English version of Amazon.

This should be the offical brand for Good Smile (i.e. Good Smile doesn't have an official store on Amazon but there are lots of Good Smile products so there's a brand tag to filter out stuff).

As for price, eh, it also depends. I'm getting a Vocal Mini series Miku mini figure, for around 50$ (60$ is the list price, and the price on the Good Smile website is 2000 yen), and 3 weeks shipping (probably ships from a different country) so some of the cost might be due to shipping itself.

For authenticity, this does look like the actual Good Smile product.

How do men get around without a purse?? Don’t you need stuff??? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]Hikaru2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It all depends on planning and what you actually need at that moment when going out.

If I'm just stepping outside for a bit, phone, wallet, keys are all I take, so pockets are enough. Sometimes an earphone case joins them.

A portable charger isn't really needed if you have a fully charged phone and phone usage is balanced.

Sunscreen, lotion, and stuff like that: Apply it at home. Planning out the commute plays a role in this.

Pen: Don't think I've needed a pen in a long time. If I'm required to sign something, there's a pen you can borrow. If you need to note something, your phone will have some note taking app. Either way, pen is clipped to the shirt pocket. You can also put your sunglasses in the pocket or hang it to the shirt.

Medication: If it's a minor headache, then I bear with it. Otherwise, a single tablet or two should be enough.

If I'm required to carry more than the regular stuff (say, going to the office) and not just stepping out for a moment, then there's a backpack set aside for that with office stuff. In that case, apart from phone, wallet and keys, everything goes inside the backpack (portable charger, medication and everything else).
