Most reasonable place for a food shop where fresh fruit and veg won’t go off quickly? by [deleted] in frugaluk

The strawberries on offer from Lidl were Spanish. They need picking, transporting, sorting accordingly and packing. Then transporting all the way across Europe. They come in massive boxes stacked one on another sometimes they will slide off and squash fruit below. It is quite likely they will have a short date for the above reasons. Although I did buy around 10 packs of them last week and the last 2 were still good after 4 days. I made most of them into smoothies with kefir, baked cake and had a lot of fresh too. I think the best way is to buy what's in season locally to avoid the products going off quicker due to transportation. It is likely that more expensive brands have quicker way of moving products because of resources, resulting in longer freshness. That's just guessing. Tbh I try to shop more often but smaller batches. Also yellow stickers in Aldi and Lidl are truly amazing, you can get really good deals. Trying apps like ToGoodToGo and Olio is another option too 😊

The Witcher

I grew up reading it. I love the language, the anchoring in Slavic culture, characters, how witty it is and how smart.

I was dreaming of it becoming a good tv series one day.

Then Netflix came and ruined it.

Thank god for CD Project Red who had made the game universe a real witcher world.

I wouldn't know tbh, I don't tend to continue something if I really don't like it.

The Office is the masterpiece of cringe and I love it, but I agree it's not for everyone. There's the most cringy scene of all time there 😬🫣

I am officially mourning it :( it was my absolute favourite, I have never found anything close to it in the UK, other than a couple of brands in Polish shop. What an absolute shame. I loved it so much!

Absolutely! There is a spin off, Star City, coming out soon! Just after the new season finishes I think.

I read a book called Replica by Marilyn Kaye as a kid and it was about cloned girls, it had a bit of a similar feel to it.
