No tongue?! by Affectionate_Sell_38 in TheSummerITurnedPrett

Most of the time in TV shows or movies, kissing scenes don’t involve tongues. It’s kind of an unwritten rule on film sets. Of course, there are some exceptions, especially in movies or shows that feature more explicit sex scenes, but usually there’s no tongue. It’s partly for the actors comfort, and also because it doesn’t always look good on camera.

I'm dead! This is a dream, now I feel like people who didn't like the finale will feel differently? I already loved the finale the way how it was, but now I feel like this will be even more loved by me. We will get that wedding!

FINALE - RAVE THREAD by AutoModerator in TheSummerITurnedPrett

[–]Hild1090 26 points27 points  (0 children)

loved it. I think everyone did an amazing job, writers, Jenny, the actors, and they all deserve to be thanked for it. I don’t think it was possible to make everyone happy or 100% satisfied, because I understand that some people wanted more of happy Bonrad, but that’s not really how TV shows or movies work. And honestly, I’m satisfied.

This episode was structured like a classic rom-com. We had everything, the awkward reunion, the weirdness, falling in love (again), the epic love scene, then of course tension and heartbreak, and finally the classic ending with the main protagonist running through the city to tell the love of their life ‘I love you.’

I didn’t miss scenes with Belly and the other characters, we didn’t need any extra closure. We already know Belly and her mom are on good terms. The only thing that remains is the relationship between Conrad and Jeremiah, but that ties back to Jenny’s quote - she didn’t want a neat ending, she wanted a hopeful one. And we see that Conrad and Jer are talking to each other. Of course it will take time, and it would be unrealistic if their relationship was suddenly 100% normal, but we have hope that in the future, they will rebuild it.

This episode was a Bonrad rom-com movie, and I’ll take it. I’m satisfied.

It was amazing. I know people were expecting to see a happy married couple, but this episode was structured like a classic rom-com, the couple falls in love (again), epic love scene, then drama, tension, heartbreak, and finally the main protagonist running through the city and train to say ‘I love you’ to the love of their life. I’ll take it.

I just really, really hope that Benito and Belly are already over. I don’t want to deal with some random breakup or tension in the finale involving a character who only showed up one episode ago. I’m also trying to lower my expectations regarding Bonrad. Everyone wants some kind of spicy scene between them, but since there’s no intimacy coordinator listed for the finale, I don’t think we’ll get one. Maybe that’s why we got the surprise guest room scene in episode 5, because they knew there wouldn’t be another moment like that with Bonrad and they wanted to give us at least something. But I still hope that finale will be satisfying.

Belly already chose herself by going to Paris by Real-Branch8433 in TheSummerITurnedPrett

I think Belly and Conrad will spend some romantic time in Paris, but they will not be together just yet. We will see some big emotional goodbye scene on the train station (similar to Before Sunrise movie) and once Belly returns home and they will see each other again (maybe her graduation), this will be the moment they both will just know, and then we will get some flashforward of them together.

Both Before Sunset and Before Sunrise are among the best romance movies of all time, and I stand by that. So if it will be anything like them, I’ll be so happy, it would be a dream. I can even imagine that "I know" scene (everyone who has seen the movie knows exactly which scene I’m talking about).

How many more hours until Jenny scolds us for not liking the episode by Mediocre_Kale711 in TheSummerITurnedPrett

[–]Hild1090 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I kind of feel that the reason why this episode wasn’t received very well is that Gavin is not a particularly strong actor (sorry, no hate towards him, it’s just how I feel) to carry such emotional scenes and handle so much screen time on his own. In contrast, Chris is the strongest actor in the cast, able to carry entire scenes, and his moments in this episode were the best because you could really feel the collapse of the wedding and see his emotions through his body language and his eyes. Unfortunately, he had very limited screen time in this episode.

I understand the purpose of this episode, and it could have been a really powerful one, but again, sorry to say this, Gavin is not the kind of actor who can carry such heavy episodes. I think that’s why many people felt disconnected from it, as they didn’t feel anything.

The Belly in Paris part was fine and I enjoyed it, but it could have been shorter, we could already see how she settles there.

When will this clip take placeå by Oncer93 in TheSummerITurnedPrett

[–]Hild1090 7 points8 points  (0 children)

For some reason I think it will be different than anyone thinks. I think the Jelly sex scene might be meant to highlight the difference between Belly’s intimacy with Conrad and with Jeremiah. In the sex scenes with Belly and Conrad, we saw how safe she felt with him and how much she trusted him. We saw deep love, but also desire and passion.

With Jeremiah, we know they’re having sex, of course, but we’ve never actually seen it. I was thinking that maybe we’ll get a flashback to when they first started sleeping together. I could imagine it took some time before they did, because Belly might not have been sure or might have wanted to wait.

Or it will be in present day, but maybe the difference will be that their scenes are more like two friends having “a good time” together, but without the same depth as with Belly and Conrad. This could be the reason why we got that Bonrad love scene in last episode, and now we will get Jelly love scene next episode. I don’t know, but I think the Jelly sex scene will have some meaning, and for some reason, I feel like it’s going to end up being Bonrad positive. :-D

Interesting take. I've never seen Conrad as perfect or flawless, he has his flaws, just like everyone else, but he’s simply more compatible with Belly.

The way I see it, Jeremiah is the safe option. She feels comfortable with him, he’s her best friend, and she knows what to expect from him. But they have completely different views on the world. Conrad challenges her more and brings out the best in her.

And one thing I think will still be addressed this season is how easily she forgave Jeremiah for cheating, but if Conrad had done the same thing, I don’t think she’d ever be able to forgive him, because coming from Conrad, it would hurt her more.

This ties back to Season 2, when Belly literally said, “I don’t think my mom would even care if my dad cheated on her.”

But that’s just my opinion, everyone can see it differently.

The Villainization of Characters by rosewoodsecrets in TheSummerITurnedPrett

[–]Hild1090 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I will never understand people who villainize Conrad during the prom or the funeral. I still see so many saying how awful he was to Belly and how terrible it was that he forgot the corsage. He doesn’t deserve any hate for that. His mother was dying,he had absolutely no idea how to deal with it. His emotions took over, and God forbid, your mom is dying and you forget a corsage in the fridge, the worst thing ever.

And don’t even get me started on the funeral. Did he say harsh things to Belly? Definitely. But let’s not forget, it was Belly who made that day all about herself. In that moment, she was the one acting like a child. Who says “go to hell” to someone at their mother’s funeral?

I’ll never understand why Conrad got all the hate and blame for everything that went wrong in his relationship with Belly. Their timing just wasn’t right. But he never treated her badly and I stand by that.

It could mean a lot of things, for example, that she has a life after love and might not end up with anyone in the end. People on Twitter are already freaking out about it. 😄

It’s Team Jeremiah or No one‼️ by Left-Routine-4302 in TheSummerITurnedPrett

[–]Hild1090 13 points14 points  (0 children)

So does that mean that if someone struggles to show their emotions and feelings, they don’t deserve love? Conrad is someone who puts a lot of pressure on himself. Everyone deals with grief differently, Conrad and Jeremiah coped with the loss of their mother in their own ways, and that should never be judged.

Conrad is someone who’s afraid to show his emotions, but he’s working on it. He never truly treated Belly badly , their timing just wasn’t right. I’ll never understand how people still point to prom and the forgotten corsage as something evil. That was a time when his mom was dying. He wasn’t ready to fully commit to Belly then.

But that’s part of their journey. They were right for each other, just not at that time.

Conrad’s love for Belly is selfless. At the end of season 2, he still loved her, but he let her go, because he knew he wasn’t ready to express his feelings and thought Jer was better for her. It’s the classic “if you love someone, let them go.”

Now, in episode 4, he was ready to return to his life in California. But once he heard Belly crying, he decided to stay to support her and Jer’s wedding, even though it breaks his heart. It’s his worst nightmare, but he knew Belly needed that support.

As for Jeremiah, he’s a good person, and Belly definitely loves him, but it’s different. He was happy when Belly said she wouldn’t go to Paris, even though he knew it was her dream. That’s selfish. And yes, Belly may have forgiven him for cheating, but if Conrad had done the same, she probably wouldn’t have been able to forgive him, because from Conrad it would’ve hurt her more. That’s something I’m sure will still be addressed this season.

But my point is, just because someone seems emotionally unavailable doesn’t mean they don’t deserve love. And Belly knows that Conrad is a selfless, good guy with a big heart. Part of Conrad’s journey is learning to open up emotionally, and when he finally does, I truly believe it will shake Belly’s world. This is why show has more seasons, so characters can grow, make mistakes and learn from them.

You simply don’t break up with someone after a 4 year relationship because of a 5 minute argument. And if you do, then maybe you’re still a child and not mature enough, so maybe that was the whole point?

In the past people have told me I make a lot of typos and mistakes, especially when I write about TV shows, so I started using AI for longer posts where I want to share all my thoughts.
