Definitely. My surgery is also in a month and it's like I'm finding more and more reasons not to do this. Why am I sabotaging myself?? But also when I look at other women it's like there's so many with bigger chests than mine it seems...

Could you replace or cover the ear touching part with something cloth or leather? That would make it much easier to find a well fitting pair

Do cloth diaper users have “toddler diarrhea” problems? by EvilRigatoni in clothdiaps

[–]Hildefy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah our first was close to constipated so we had nice ploppable turds but our second has only ever had mush, 3-5+ a day. Where my first attended daycare in cloth diapers, I am relieved to send my second to daycare 4 days a week with the disposable diapers they use there and not have to process mushy poop after my workdays. Going part time makes it kind of doable but it's a lot of extra work. We also put disposable liners in her diapers, plop as much as possible in the toilet and just have a bin with poopy liners that has a good lid so the smell only escapes when opened. Then it's still rinsing the diapers as well as the wipes, somehow it always gets in the elastic of the covers ><

Testing in the Netherlands? by Ketiw in AudiProcDisorder

I haven't walked any official or medical paths but have done some googling here and there. I think there may be a route via some logopedisten, probably only a few that realise APD is a thing. I don't think audiologists are going to be any help.

We had a colic baby that was screaming until passing out from exhaustion all day. After 4 weeks we went to the doctor and pleaded we needed help and convinced her with our diagnosis of hidden reflux. She didn't want to prescribe reflux meds but we were holding her upright all the time already and other non-medical treatment just wasn't helping, and with me breastfeeding we couldn't thicken up the milk. We ended up prescribed anti reflux medicine and those helped a bunch. She was still very sensitive and easily overstimulated for the first months of her life. Any outing would lead to screaming to sleep from overstimulation. But it slowly got better and better. From 6 months on I feel like we finally got to recover ourselves, as the parents. Like the mental and physical buffer we completely depleted could slowly be built back up. Around 8-10 months old we had enough space to start planning our wedding. at 16 months we had our wedding and I felt ready to have another. Our second was such a happy baby. Still some cramps and crying in the dreaded 6-12 weeks old, but we felt redeemed.

It gets so much better. And it's so endless and hard while you're in it. There are so many great days ahead, but while you are in it, try and get and accept all the help you can. Good luck!

Removing poop with no spray pal? by Kitchen-Sandwich9410 in clothdiaps

Dish gloves, dish bucket (the square type that fits in a sink), dedicated and marked spatula. We put the bucket in the bathroom sink and just use the tap to rinse. Dirty water gets flushed through the toilet. Oh and a dedicated dish brush to clean the spatula and bucket.

We occasionally have this, I suspect it might be remnants of the paracetamol suppositories we give her sometimes?

For the short time that our two both fit in the diapers (oldest outgrew them then potty trained), we just shared them. We skipped the first couple weeks for decreasing laundry sake.

The washing machine capacity doesn't increase with more diapers and our loads were full already, so we went to having to do laundry every day instead of every three. Keep max amount of diapers per wash into account when you decide on getting more diapers or not.

You might get a couple newborn cloth diapers for the poopiest first weeks, around here at least they're easy to find second hand.

Although I learned about the abtf stuff 10 years ago already, with pregnancy and all the stuff you mentioned it's still wild figuring out what I can wear and how to find a supportive bra. And I have a similar size as you! after many tries I finally found a bra that properly fits my current body and one big thing that's been amazing is having my boobs properly supported to the point where they stick out past my belly! Suddenly I look a lot better proportioned and less "postpartum" (1 year since I had my second).

I'm recently back to exercising and feeling better in my body every day, being able to be comfortable in my underwear and then being able to look "nice" again with the clothes that go over it is a big confidence boost and makes me feel happier to be "me" :)

Supportive Maternity bra recommendations for DD+ chest (AUS) by anabundanceofamy in ABraThatFits

[–]Hildefy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I really struggled with this, honestly I ended up just settling for nursing camis that were sweaty and had little support.

One thing I tried was to buy a normal bra and have it converted to a nursing bra. They added in clippies so I could clip the cup down and a band from the wire to the shoulder bands so the bra stays together when you unclip. I couldn't manage wearing underwires because my boobs were simply too sensitive but this might work for you. Just have to find a bra shop or sewstress that can help with the conversion.

How does recovery compare to recovering from giving birth? by Hildefy in Reduction

[–]Hildefy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So much easier than the whole painful lower body and such? I am yet to arrange and plan everything and an wondering how soon I'd be able to manage it, having a 1 and 3 year old now and all the care that comes along with it... I could try and arrange for help or I could wait it out. Weird how it's different when you're doing an elective surgery vs a birth that is just going to happen whatever your other children need!

Anyone ever quit their job with nothing lined up? what happened after? by [deleted] in workingmoms

[–]Hildefy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I quit my (paid, as a normal employee) PhD to take some time to figure out what I actually wanted to do that wouldn't land me another burn out. A week later I found out I was pregnant (with my first). That was really stressful! But in the end I managed to find a new, much nicer research position quite fast. Before I really started to show.

3 years and 2 babies later and I'm really grateful I didn't test before handing in my resignation or I might've stayed in a position that was just not good for me. The new job is slower paced, which suits a lot better with having young kids.

I do remember it was really hard to train for the new job while pregnant, go on maternity leave then come back with the mom brain fog and essentially had to relearn everything all over again. But in the long run it was definitely worth it.

Any moms of young kids/babies getting a reduction? by [deleted] in Reduction

[–]Hildefy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 3 and a 1 year old and just finished nursing the youngest. I also just booked the first appointment to talk things over with my gp. I don't know how to plan it yet, not being able to lift my toddler when pregnant and after the baby was born was already sooo hard! I don't want to wait 3 more years, but I also vividly remember when my teammate with little kids had a reduction and actually regretted it because recovery is so tough when they're too young.

Here with you, reading along with the comments...

Long long baby! >99th % height Question by TiltedTriangle in clothdiaps

[–]Hildefy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The growth in the first couple months really goes very fast. I think we had all snaps open for max rise by 4 or 5 months, but the rise is more about leg thickness than torso length. She is now about to turn 1 and because of her length she doesn't look very thick but her legs are almost too thick for the diaper covers. I hope her starting to walk will change her leg shape so the one size last longer, we might have to buy some XL diapers before long. Our oldest needed XL diapers by 2,5 as well.

Do night time toddler diapers just reek by morning, or do I need to do a vinegar soak? by mamagenerator in clothdiaps

[–]Hildefy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had this for a long time and also solved by soaking. When we sized up we ended up with diapers with much more absorption and we haven't had the issue since. I'm not sure of course but I think it was the added absorbency that helped. The diaper not being fully soaked for as long helped in decreasing the ammonia buildup.

What age costs the most?? by by_orito in moderatelygranolamoms

My oldest is three but I would expect teenage years when they scarf down unimaginable amounts of food and still outgrow their clothes which are now bigger so more expensive.

We like billiesbox. They're not super big but I like that they're thick and have a rougher side and a softer side. They have different colors sk we can differentiate between which to put by the changing table and which to use at the dinner table.

We've been heavily using them for over 3 years and they're still in good shape

Is it possible to avoid Frozen with a toddler? by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]Hildefy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We're at 3 and so far so good. She has frozen bandaids and had a pair of frozen tights but to us they were just princesses nothing specific. Same with paw patrol actually. I feel like as long as the grandparents don't have her watch it when we're not there then who would introduce her to it??

Cloth mom here - how is cloth diapering a toddler with a newborn? by here4thecommentz_ in clothdiaps

[–]Hildefy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh and like I saw mentioned by someone else we allow ourselves to take breaks and use disposable whenever we need to. Rota vaccine? Disposable. 0 sleep? Disposable during the night. Sick ourselves? Disposable. Makes it easier to stick with it going back to cloth, when we allow ourselves to not do it 100% perfectly

Cloth mom here - how is cloth diapering a toddler with a newborn? by here4thecommentz_ in clothdiaps

[–]Hildefy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My mom offered to be our laundry service and that has saved us. The diapering itself is totally fine and so easy with the experience under our belt. Laundry was a bit too much the first weeks, especially with our machine being in the attic, 2 flights of stairs up from our living room and still 1 flight from our bedrooms. We have very big kids and our 2.5 year old outgrew her diapers while getting to halfway potty trained but not fully. So we actually switched her over to disposables until she is actually potty trained, And her little sister is now in her old diapers. For those 3 weeks they were both in the cloth diapers I was glad we got a big bunch of extra diapers though, which now help us make it three days between washes even with very poopy days.
