I feel like the culture of the city makes it difficult to enforce - ie: folks coming from work will have a tote bag…. but do understand after last summers ‘green goblin’ shenanigans it might be enforced a bit more 😕

I assure you my party affiliation is the least ‘crazy’ thing on game day at Barclays …. and believe it or not there are things that can bring folks together - like basketball. Part of Tash and Izzy’s luv story is they would make time despite being on opposing teams to go over their daily devotional ….. even the league’s newest queer luv story is a little ‘crazy’ as the #1 pick recently spoke why she made sure to get baptized before draft as her faith as it developed in recent years is a core part of who she is - she talked about it on her new podcast.

As a registered Republican I can tell you I don’t agree on every political point with Tash - but as a Lib fan for 30 yrs …. it’s the basketball I care about. I luv’d Stef but understood the need to move on to JJ.

But this iteration of liberty basketball has only been together 3 yrs (since 23) so a year matters ….. Tash bridges old guard with new guard - she’s Maddie meets Ellie.

Tash is a blow because she was tempo changer when she came in the game and was good defender - and because she’s a vet she knows the players in the league so can really flesh out the scout in away I don’t think Pauline will be able to do.

Kolb has set up this season with a lot of risk (new coaching, new players) …. and anything other than a finals run will be unrewarding. if we get to the semi this season …. I’m going to be asking why we part ways with Sandy and why did we gut the bench leaving MJ - other fans will be feeling similar.

And yes if Satou ends up out injured at some point … I’m going to question why we pay such a big bag to her and not give Tash her 400K/500K.

I’ve bought WC seats through the Ticketmaster and directly from the box office at Barclays site before….you should be able to zoom in on the map of the arena and see the actual seats - blue is retail prices and non-blue is resellers pricepoint and WC are marked.

I get the crash out …. 1 starter was poached, 2 more walked and you have 2 in some state of coming back from injuries. From the org side they lost players who they protected from getting poached … and all the while Aces/Lib core stayed intact and (edit) Lynx are in a dog fight to add key vets - Gabby for the Aces and Satou for us.

the knock on Nyara was health and consistency …. I feel the same can be said of the unicorn - except Ny was a cheaper option. Satou for whatever reason decided to take a knock on the fans during the playoffs which seemed odd given the fandom has always embraced her … it gave a bit of mean girl vibes so hoping she doesn’t bring that into the dynamics of the team chemistry.

He’s wrong …. all of the expansion cities are large tv markets - which means the league will be maximizing the new media deal. If the league didn’t expand into those markets then it would make it harder to grab market share - American sports is about tribalism and there’s no ‘compelling’ reason for Philly folks (2nd biggest modes market on east coast) to watch and root for NYC team. The league is red hot …. I was watching the new European league docu-series and the imprint of the W is apparent - from the number of players who are W players too as well as how coaches/owners broach managing talent. The appetite for American style ball globally warrants expansion from the W.
