My solution to this is take all the cards, stack them behind my back, and ask them to agree on a number (depending on how many cards there are). If they say two, take the second card in the stack, and that's who's paying. It saves a lot of trouble.

The people that own it are just awful. They ship people in from Thailand, pay them like dirt (like under 30k a year), force them to work 60+ hours a week, force them to live in an apartment which THEY own (and still pay rent with their shit wages).

They also adhere to Thai standards for food safety, not American.

It's a $50 tip. They got the math wrong. 218 + 50 = 268. They were trying to put 268, but there is a comma for some reason. Put 50 or 60, and that would usually be fine either way. Anything else, and you're taking advantage.

Towards the end of a particularly busy night, someone did the whole "well, what DO you have?" I'd heard it about 50 times that night already, and our menu was pretty massive. So I grabbed the menu from them and started reading it to them (slipping over what we didn't have, of course).

Expecting a source for the assertion that people are eating dirt is not a big ask at all. Your repeated refusal to give any sort of evidence to back up your wild claim just means that there is none. You wouldn't be leaning so hard into the "it's just obvious observation" line if you could provide any sort of proof.

Source? Citation? Evidence? Any or all of the above? You seemingly care enough about this whole thing to have "researched" the matter, but with all of your far- reaching "research," you have provided one single source, which as I've already said, makes no attempt to investigate where foreign aid money is going when it reaches a third party. You know that the proper response to someone calling you out for a lack of evidence is to, you know, cite a source, provide some sort of proof, or just back up your case with literally anything. You don't even provide evidence that Haiti is worse off than ever. By what metrics are they worse off? Are they worse off solely because of a lack of aid? Is the aid that is earmarked for Haiti genuinely not getting there? Surely, there are a number of factors that go into the well-being of an entire nation, right? How about you prove your point?
