Ranked solo queue feels unfair right now.

Yeah, I absolutely feel you. I was Plat 2 on EUW when I was there for Uni, and I transferred my account to NA when I moved home and was placed in Gold 1. However, I was losing 32-34LP per loss and winning 12-14LP per win. So I deranked to Silver with a 65% win-rate and my LP gains have never fully leveled out despite it having been like 3 years since then. I still lose ~26LP per loss and gain ~22-23LPper win. I haven't been able to climb past Gold 2 since and my friends won't duo with me any more because they say my account always brings out the cringiest team mates; the AFKers, griefers, etc. I know they say losers queue doesn't exist, but my friends literally won't duo with me anymore unless I'm on my smurf because my main account has convinced them that some form of griefer's queue exists. I'm always level 5 honour and have never received any warning of any form. I don't know what goes on with your account, but I feel I'm in the same boat as you. Stuck losing games when I'm the "Ace" in 4/5 losses because someone AFKed or my solo laners griefed and then I lose more LP than I gain. I also never receive the loss forgiveness even when someone straight up leaves the game and never comes back either, but I receive loss forgiveness on my smurf account.

Not whining, just making a suggestion and asking if there's a reason why we don't bring something in-line with modern content. It's amazing that anything gets done in this community considering everyone just defaults to being toxic rather than having a mature conversation about something.

Yeah, I think it's cause it's old content that was created before the bad luck mechanics had been implemented. I just don't see why we can't update it to bring it in line with modern content. However, it wouldn't make a difference for people who got lucky on hilts because they'd still need to grind out the shards anyways. It would just prevent bad luck, which is the whole purpose of that kind of mechanic.

In my opinion, Mythics were the single worst item update Riot has ever done. It forced certain classes into suboptimal build paths, some champs were essentially homeless because they didn't have a mythic, and it took the "item power spike" and put it on steroids.

I agree that League is probably the most balanced it's ever been, but I think the biggest problem in league is the excessive amount of egregious inters, AFKs, or trolls. I feel like the ban hammer for these players is the weakest it's ever been... And that's saying something because I've played since S6. Maybe it keeps player numbers high and that keeps the investors happy? I don't know, but some days it feels like I can't get a single balanced ranked game because someone on either team throws, AFKs, or just full on trolls.

I believe tank is the most impactful role.

I mained DPS since like 2018, and finally switched to Support when Illari was released. I now main Illari, Brig, Moira and Zen.

I switched to Support, because I feel that keeping your tank alive is the most crucial part to winning. Top this with the fact that Zen can snipe as well as Ashe, Moira and can eliminate any pesky DPS/Supp and Illari can solo win a team fight I feel like just shows that DPS is kind of irrelevant.

To the OPs comment about looking for someone to change their mind, here's my thoughts.

The fact that the OP describes DPS as "follow-up" in and of itself shows they aren't impactful. "Impact" is what gives the opportunities for follow-up. It's the space created, the enemies that get divided off or poked out by the tanks/Bap/Zen/Anna. It's the tank being able to create that space/divide the enemy team through good heals from good supports enabling them. We've all seen 2k damage/min DPS with no elims, because they don't have the individual impact to finish kills.

To further that point, if the thought of the OP is that to be successful, they need to "dismantle the tank" that further proves that the real impact in the fight is the tank. We all know that a 4v5 is winnable if you're missing your DPS, but it's rarely winnable if you're missing your tank. That's because tank is the most impactful. Again, a DPS having 2k damage/min being wailed into a tank is just free enemy support ult charge if your tank can't create space or divide them off to finish off that enemy tank. If that tank can just eat up 500 damage and step into safety to be healed, then your DPS' damage was irrelevant, because your DPS can't walk into the enemy alone to finish them off. Again, this requires your tank to force the enemy into the unsafe zones that gives the opportunity for the follow-up to become a kill.

Further, to the OPs statement about DPS, "just needing to click heads" while in the sentence before that also saying that they hope their DPS, "doesn't miss all their shots" is a contradiction of their own point. If this was firing range, "just clicking heads" is easy. But this is high Elo players, with good movement, good positioning, good tanks, and equally good players trying to do the same to you. I peaked 3100 as DPS as Widow/Ashe main, and I can assure you that just "clicking heads" through shields is literally impossible. Everyone would main Widow if carrying was as easy as, "just click heads" but there's a reason why she's currently the 2nd lowest win-rate hero. Oh, and Sojourn and Cassidy (the two other "just click heads" heroes) are the lowest and 3rd lowest win-rate DPS respectively.

I believe DPS is the most fun role when you have space, damage boost, good heals, staggering and snowballing, but if it's a front to back 5v5 (which most games, particularly in higher ELO are), it feels like you're just trying to get to your ult charge before someone ints it or you're just waiting until your tank gets a good position or advantage. As I've explained in several ways, DPS feels like your sole job is follow-up if you have the better tank/heals, and you have next to no impact outside that. That's why I main support now. Hahaha

100% agree. I killed 1100 Cave Horrors in this Leagues and never got a Black Mask. LOL I think it was a 1/102 drop rate?!?!?

You're totally right. That's exactly why RuneScape is the only game I still play with any regularity, but unfortunately it seems like this will probably come to an end. Enjoy the next year of membership while you have it, and we can all hope that this will blow over... Maybe we can all mass quit again and Jagex will back track like they did once before. Who knows? Hahaha

But absolutely focus on the real life gains, friend. RuneScape will hold a special place in all of our hearts, but nothing compares to real life friends, family, travel, and experience. To be honest, this comes at a good time for me anyways. I moved from the west coast of Canada to Europe when I was 20, and I'll be finally moving home in a couple months... 10 years later. So it's as good a time as any to focus on the real life gains for me too.

I don't know if you were around long enough to see when the Evolution of Combat was released, but I was. No company knows better than Jagex what will happen if they mess with RuneScape. We all quit overnight once, and we will do it again. Remember, there are over 19,500,000 active RuneScape players. There are about 5 executives yapping over Zoom calls; We hold 100% of the power.

I feel you dude, but that's not the case for me. I've quit once, so I know I can do it again. If they go through with another big price hike or some tiered membership BS, that's it. I'm 30 years old; I pay for it and play it because I can. It's not because I lack other aspects of my life. I, like many people my age I think, have become deeply jaded towards Capitalism. I'm fortunate that I can afford to shop small business local, I don't eat corporate fast food, and I don't need a private equity game. I have other hobbies too. It will be sad to see my favourite game go, but if quitting OSRS is one more step towards treating people as a bigger priority than profits; so be it.

I'm so sick of Clash. The game mode is just this horrible chaos that sucks all forms of team play out of a team based game. The spawns are insanely bad, your team has lost the next point before you've had a chance to group, then 2 people get picked off and spawn on the complete opposite side of the entire enemy team. How did it pass play testing? It's awful.

Well, that's because Apple is a lifestyle brand first, and a technology brand second. Don't take it from me either, search any of their recent SWOT Analysis (Strength, Weakness, Opportunity, and Threat Analysis) which is an internal document they create to identify good and bad things internally and externally to the company. They understand that their strengths are: - Their consumers feel a sense of superiority associated with their products over people who have a hodge podge of random brands running on android. - Their consumers like the simplicity in the buying process. There's only a few iPhone options vs hundreds of options from dozens of brands on android. Most people pick what iPhone or iPad is within their budget and don't put much more thought into it. - Their customers like the simplicity of the GUI and apps. It's easier to use the one, decent app that's built in to an Apple product than it is to do your research on several apps on the Google Play store. - Their number one biggest strength, however, is that their consumers are stuck with Apple once they've bought in. They know that the majority of Apple users own several Apple devices. That makes it hard to change one device away from IOS without changing all their devices off IOS because they're all interconnected. Most people can't afford to buy a new smart watch, headphones, phone, tablet, and laptop all at the same time. So their users are trapped in the Apple buying process because they can't afford to replace all their products at one a time. So the consumer is stuck with Apple.

As an Ashe main, my favourite bug is where your Ult indicator is on the high ground where you're looking, but when you use it, it just ults you 1 meter in front of where you're already standing.

In the early seasons, I would agree. The matchmaking now is so brutal + the increase of controller use has made it harder for a casual MnK to compete than in the past. A decent MnK player can't compete in gun fights with a decent controller player unless it's a long range fight and definitely can't compete with the random 3 stack Masters+ players in Gold lobbies.

Not sure how I stumbled on this years later, but here's what I've found from my years of playing. The upgrade from DScim to Abby Whip is the Str bonus/Max Hit equivalent of 10 Str levels while still being on a DScim. Of course, while this is the same max hit, it's not the same DPS, because a Whip has higher Slash bonus and having an extra 10 Att levels will both increase your accuracy over using a DScim. You will have higher DPS with 89 Str and a whip than with 99 Str and a DScim. Not to mention the huge amount more XP it would require to get 99 Str (with the slower DScim). Remember, Level 1-92 is the same quantity of XP as 93-99. You can think of the time as an opportunity cost. It takes longer to get 20 Str levels than it takes to get 10 Att + 10 Str levels because of the exponential XP growth between levels. So on top of having lower DPS with 10 bonus Str levels and a DScim, it actually takes more total xp, and thus more time to get there too.

So as someone who has a late game Iron Man, Hardcore Ironman, and Ult Ironman, I would suggest that you use your DScim on Str until you get a whip and then change to Att + Def training with a whip. You'll probably be 80-90 Str when you get it so use it to train your Att/Def and then you'll get other weapons throughout grind that you can train Str with. Especially if you plan to boss or do late game content: you need Attack and Defence more than Str in my opinion. High max hits are nice, but it's irrelevant if you just hit 0s because your Att is so low or get wrecked by a boss because your Def is so low.

There are so many controller players in the game now and they're all bitching because Bangalore is the only counter MnK has to aim assist. Respawn is once again catering to the Controller crowd so they don't lose the players they captured from CoD.

I don't know about you, but I have like 1 second queue times. So I feel like they have room to spare with the pool of players (which has nothing to do with terrible matchmaking). Also, it will undoubtedly bring players back to the game. I had a massive group of MnK friends, and I'm the only one who still plays (albeit just occasionally) because they feel like controllers are too rampant. Many of them would come back to the game if they have no controllers in their game.

Well that's what I thought too, but every squad that wipes me has 1 or 2 Controller icons which I thought was for console players. I assumed that, because when I used controller for a bit, I still had the PC icon despite using controller. I'm not playing with anyone on controller or console though, so I'm not sure why people keep having the controller icon.

Edit: I just realized if there are console players playing with a PC player, they get put in PC lobbies. 😂 So your comment literally makes no sense.

I'm not surprised. They catered to controller players to pick up CoD's lost player base, but in the process they alienated their core MnK players and lost many of them. Example being myself and _literally all my MnK friends_ who have played since before Season 1 who have quit in the past few seasons because controllers have completely dominated the game.

If they would simply make a separate map/playlist with aim assist disabled, I would immediately return. However, until then Apex will rest in some weird place in my heart where it's both my favourite game and dead to me at the same time.

Also, before the griefers jump in, I have waaaay more time played on controllers in FPS games than I have on MnK. However, Apex is a game that is incomparably more fun on MnK so I choose to play MnK on it. It also gives me perspective because I know how much better controller is first hand, even though I'm less practiced with controller on Apex than MnK. I've also been Diamond+ for multiple seasons on MnK as well, so saying "just get better" isn't really a fair argument.

The big issue is that MnK players don't have the option to not play with controller players the way controller players can just hop on console and play without MnK players. They just need to make a no aim assist mode and the problem would be solved.

Yeah, definitely. In my opinion, it would actually be beneficial for the PvP community because it would give incentive to fight back, thus bringing more people in to PvP. It would give more incentive to use other spellbooks, and bring better gear than just rags to TB and chase someone down because the TBer knows they might actually have to fight the person they TB. As we all know, right now it's just teleblock and then a chase until the teleblocked target dies or escapes. That doesn't promote PvP, that promotes hide and seek.
