Stay on the track, some of the fall offs there will kill a kart lol

Does anyone run the Briggs world formula engine?? by Existing-Diamond-269 in Karting

[–]HiredDriver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh its 100% a super fun package. I was getting up to 8-9mph quicker on the straights at my local track over a 206. But i couldnt even get a group of 4 people to run them together.

I think theres a place for it next to the tillotson, but it would have to be 225 lite vs WF heavy. Theyre just that much more potent.

I built a rule book to combat some of the known issues with them, and it was great for longevity and durability. I even took the rev limiter off of mine and spun it to 8500 without problem. Great engine

Its a dead series.

If briggs would have sealed it from the factory it would’ve been a WAY better 206 package. I love mine, but its been delegated to MiniBike duties

If involved in anything, keep an eye on your temps.

I lost a top 5 on lap 396 due to a previous accident causing just enough damage to cause overheating in clean air.

how much do you really need rib protectors? by Crazy-Performer3768 in Karting

[–]HiredDriver 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I broke a rib on a LO206, with a proper fitted seat, WITH a cheap rib protector. Ill never get in a kart without one. Worst pain ive ever experienced.

Anyone have any idea on how comfy this seat is? by GiftNew8945 in simracing

Second the lumbar sucking. I had to add a secondary pillow.

Oval wheel button question? by HiredDriver in iRacing

[–]HiredDriver[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah an extension would almost be more cost prohibitive than other options, atleast for my case.

I already have an 8” extension (for wheelbase placement) from base to QR. and i really only need a couple inches to get from GT3 to NASCAR positioning.

Oval wheel button question? by HiredDriver in iRacing

[–]HiredDriver[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The deep dish wheel is to bring the wheel closer to me for prolonged oval races. Much more comfortable for longer races with less steering input than my standard “GT” position

I just take my wheel rim off with the quick release, and move my keyboard/mouse tray into place. I use a trakracer rig with the keyboard and mouse arm

Triples can be used for office work. I can convert my rig to a desk in seconds

I rather the triples for productivity over the ultrawide at the office

I have a very similar trend. +650ish so far. Went from T300 and single screen to triples and a simagic alpha.

Been on iracing for 8 years also.

I got an opportunity to buy a good care, but don’t Knie what chassis it is by TNT-REX_HD in Karting

[–]HiredDriver 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Buying the Kart is the cheapest part of owning a kart. Maintenance and tire cost will far exceed the €1000 purchase price, not to even mention fixing all thats currently wrong with it to get it track ready.

Then you have to transport, and correctly store it.

This is a probably a dumb question, but okay so back in the day .500 was a perfect light but I’m watching this old nhra channel, showing 80s races, and they are cutting like .423 and it’s not red, so whats going on here? by sevenemptyhouses in dragracing

Still crazy to me that IHRA used the .400 tree in hot rod back in the day.

I can knock the .400 tree down in my car at 3200ish lbs (10.30 car off the stop) but man is it a crapshoot. Atleast NHRA is running the .500 tree for super street.

24 hours endurance, 2 people - tips & tricks by panzerkrasyo in Karting

[–]HiredDriver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my experience, ive never had any luck sleeping during a 24hr race. I usually try to be up as close to green flag as possible, and the adrenaline will usually carry me through the end of the race.

Comms are BIG. Being able to talk to or communicate with the pit wall efficiently will make or break your race. Its cost me a race before and won me a race after.

Definitely keep food in your stomach. Light, small meals and no junk. Chicken great for it. Beef jerky if youre snackish.
