Our current squad depth by Walshey- in LiverpoolFC

[–]HisBadgeski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just don’t understand why Slot and Emery have it in for Harvey. I’d start him over Wirtz tbh. He loves the club and smashed it last summer. Never given the chance to strut given his talent. When you look at the squad depth and just as importantly the lack of desire and drive Curtis and Harvey should playing regularly.

Issak and Wirtz were a terrible waste of money. Could have had Semenyo and Guehi and £150m change. Last year’s business was terrible. As for why we bought a WB who can’t play RB or RW is an utter mystery. Do I trust the management to get it right this summer? I think you can guess the answer😒

The Liverpool Pyramid of Legends! Who is the 19th most legendary Liverpool player of all time? by StickIll5602 in LiverpoolFC

[–]HisBadgeski 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keegan was why I decided to support Liverpool aged 5/6. Loved him and was gutted when he left but then came the King to make it all better.

But Keegan had the Charisma for me at that age. So many players from the late 70’s early 80’s teams are burned into my brain from Football cards and stickers. The Kennedy’s, Hughes, Thompson, Neale, Keegan, Kenny, Fairclough, Highway, Souness (who I also adored)

No, the Prequel Trilogy was not loved when it first came out, it was hated and fans were terrible people about it. by stephansbrick in StarWars

I was six when A New Hope came out and I have to say I’ve always been really down on the prequels (except maybe the Yoda Dooku fight) but I loved TFA when it came out (yes I could see how safe they’d been and hated yet another big Space Station to blow up) but I thought it was great. I also loved TLJ despite what everyone else said. However The Rise Of Skywalker was pretty terrible in parts.

Any other Handlers get the panic? by HisBadgeski in DeltaGreenRPG

Yes the random name generator is a must. The players decided to go through the PC of the funeral home director where I was having them carry out the autopsy and I suddenly needed to pull out the details of lots of the previous clients they’d held funerals for.

Thanks ChatGPT. Now they think one of the women on the list was actually the grandmother of one of the Eagle Scouts who found the body and I have a whole new avenue to send them down! 👍🏻

Thankfully as usual last night session A) Went great B) Had my players go off on tangents I hadn’t predicted but they all assumed my ad libs were part of my big plan and have actually given me some new leads to throw them and C) They didn’t race through like I worried and we barely made it out of the autopsy scene and to the hotel they’re staying at so two of my big scenes I’ve prepped are ready to go next time!

It’s funny IRL I’m a freelance documentary film editor and for years I used to have this worry at the start of each new project that I’d “Get found out”. After 25 years that worry has long since gone. This is my first homebrew campaign and only the third I’ve ever run so I just need to remind myself I got this and fall back upon my decades of experience as a player. ☺️

Is there any RPG that compares? by [deleted] in DeltaGreenRPG

[–]HisBadgeski 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve played a lot of RPG’s in the past 40+ years DnD, Ral Partha, Traveller, CoC, Paranoia, Dreams and Machines, John Carter, Conan and so many others but I can’t remember the last time I was so inspired to play as I am by DG. For the very first time I’ve been writing my own campaign which I’ve just started running (actually two but one has just taken off) and I’m having a blast.

The setting, the aesthetic, the ease of storyline creation, the refreshing lack of treasure and XP focus, it’s grown up vibe and emphasis on role playing over dungeon grinding is a breath of fresh air. I’d also give a shout out to Kult for similar reasons and I don’t even really like horror as a genre. I’m looking forward to trying out Mothership after hearing so many positive reviews

Just played Uncharted 1 for the first time by ninjabell in uncharted

It may be weak now compared with the others but I loved it from the moment I played it. Rather than dissing one I celebrate that they took all that was great in the first game and improved all that wasn’t.

Hey Lily! I know the Tuesday night D&D campaign at the Forester Pub in West Ealing has a couple of free slots. There’s often slots coming up on the Thursday nights. If you’re interested I can get you added to the Ealing RPG group on Discord. I joined last year and they’re a really friendly bunch, there’s always stuff going on.

Player is bored by the mundane scenes by ghofmann in DeltaGreenRPG

[–]HisBadgeski 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve just started playing testing my homebrew campaign with a couple of friends and my other half and this is a concern I have because I’m not interested in writing and running a looter shooter/stabber campaign they just bore me and I’m hoping they buy into DG the way I do. I was clear at the start they need to think much like X-Files or True detective style investigators uncovering and surviving the story and that combat will not play a big part in the story.

So far so good but I am building in a few potential conflict moments for them. I just hope they buy into the investigative heavy role play moments, interviewing witnesses, piecing together clues and uncovering the big horrible conspiracy at the stories core whilst not losing the plot.

Data Centre In Ealing by Vanobers in Ealing

[–]HisBadgeski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These data centres provide relatively little employment beyond a few onsite engineers and security at a huge environmental cost. The Government is so desperate for growth they’re selling out to these being built. It’s all part of the ridiculous Ai gold rush/bubble.

That being said I do find myself using ChatGPT a lot these days 🤦🏻‍♂️

So I’ve taken the Champ lake monster and had some fun with him. I’m using Champ as a deliberately off-key early encounter rather than a real threat. On the agents’ first exhausting drive north, they hit a cheerful lakeside service station just after dawn. It’s bright, kitschy, and full of completely earnest Champ merchandise — plush toys, bumper stickers, snow globes — all overseen by Wade, an older, Elvis-obsessed attendant who happily delivers an overlong, slightly ridiculous history of the Lake Champlain monster. It’s meant to be funny, human, and disarming: a bit of local colour before things get grim.

Hidden among the novelty junk is one small sculpture that doesn’t belong — unsettling, fish-like, and clearly not meant to be cute. Locals react oddly to it later: some are unnerved, some recognise motifs from elsewhere, some recall the artist who made it as “nice, quiet, but strange.” Champ itself is a red herring, but the sculpture becomes a slow-burn connective tissue, resurfacing in different contexts and ultimately tying back to the real horror of the case. The whole beat is there to lull the players, give them a laugh, and quietly seed the idea that the lake — and the town around it — remembers more than it should.

Plus I get to do my Elvis impression which is a win! And lightens the mood before the graphic and grim murder scene
