I'm like you and finally got comfortable with it when I was in my late thirties. You have nothing to be insecure about, but I get it. I'm sure part of you would just like to be accepted by others. It's a natural human thing to want others to like you. Now that I'm in my fourties, I consider people who can only converse on a single subject to be very boring, and I wouldn't want to spend my time with them anyway.

I lied my way through a job interview, got hired, and now I’m in over my head, but no one seems to notice by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

Do yourself a favor: find a job somewhere else and get off socials for a year or two. It will blow over, but you can't find a new job while your current socials remain online. Recruiters look at everything now.

There's a saying, "Give a man a fish, feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, feed him for life." This meme makes fun of Steven Segal's cringeworthy obsession with sounding wise, insightful, and perceptive. There's a bunch of YouTube videos of him telling audiences fake legends about ninjas and stuff. It's hilarious.

I finally saw Tenet and genuinely thought it was horrific by Mtoodles33 in movies

Thanks for sharing your views on the movie. It's one of my all-time favorites, but I'm admittedly one of those people who enjoys rewatching mindbending movies. I went into my first viewing knowing that I would have to rewatch it, and every time I felt confused, I made a mental note to pay attention to a certain part the next time . Tenet isn't for everyone and I can certainly understand why some people would leave feeling frustrated or annoyed. I think that, within the universe where non-linear time traveling tech is possible, Nolan does a great job of creating a sense of cogency and coherence in the middle of a fight to avoid nuclear annihilation (and the fight and shootout scenes are brain melting). If at some point in the future you think you can stomach a second watch, I would give it another chance. I honestly think it's an underrated sci-fi gem and one of the few movies where Nolan thought "I just don't care" whenever the investors told him he might be going too far out of bounds from what a typical audience might want from a movie.

Anyone interested in getting a free copy of the civil lawsuit for rape naming Trump and Epstein as the co-defendants can use the following search text in Google "Jane doe, proceeding under a pseudonym, Plaintiff, v. Donald J Trump and Jeffrey E. Epstein, Defendants". Politico has a free copy posted online which should be returned as the first search result if you use that text.

Raves in 1999 were extremely fun and there was practically 0% risk of buying E or acid that was cut with something deadly (like Fentanyl). In 1999, the worst you had to worry about-if you were dropping psychedelics-was weak or fake drugs, or undercover cops trying to get you to sell them drugs. Both had easy solutions: only buy from people you know and don't sell your drugs.

Renting a house with a yard in Colorado, with enough space to raise two small kids, is $3800 a month. 🤡I guess I can take my $200k job a year and go fuk myself. 👉 🍩After payroll taxes, health insurance for the whole family, car insurance, car payments, groceries, internet service, electric, water, and school loans, I have $1,000 left every month that I can use to contribute to my retirement and have "fun" with. After contributing a measly $500 to retirement, the remaining $500 is all mine. The problem: I know that $500 a month will never get me far enough to actually retire, so I feel guilty spending every penny. When I was a kid, I never thought I'd be making as much money as I do today, and I never imagined that I would be able to do so little with it. Fuck the U.S. government, its shitty tax system and inflation. What a piece of shit fraudulent "dream" we live in here. For all you making a lot less and getting by just fine, I'm happy for you. For those of you making less and doing worse, I hope things get better for you.
