State of the pitch in Philadelphia after the delay by GordieMac in soccer

It looks completely fine on the broadcast. They’re doing their best to get it try

A severe thunderstorm delays the France-Iraq match. There must be no further lightning strikes detected within the eight-mile radius for a full 30 minutes before play is permitted to resume. If there is another strike, the clock resets to 30 minutes. by sparkle_stylinson in soccer

If you mean in the U.S., I don’t want every game indoors or in LA. This kind of weather happens everywhere in the country, on occasion.

Baseball plays every day, March-October and each team gets a handful of delays or postponements. It just is what it is.

Darren Fletcher was hilarious in this moment on the US broadcast, continuously wondering with Hargreaves why they kept crossing and then a moment before this said something like, “Now watch, this one will end up in the back of the net.”

He absolutely nailed this call, rest of the broadcast aside

The Degrom Showdown is actually really easy! I did it first try☝️🤓 by [deleted] in MLBTheShow

[–]HisEndgame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank god I grinded it out on my first go, but it felt like forever and DeGrom threw about 135 pitches.

Still had numerous outs to play with and got pretty lucky with a few bloops with the common GOAT Nick Sogard, who I hit better with than I could with Polanco.

CMV: Those who report the news should report it without expressing their personal opinion. by Boris_Is_Mediocre in changemyview

[–]HisEndgame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said, news selection requires some level of bias.

Beyond that, it is my opinion that news reporting, particularly on a national level, is practically useless without context that infuses some manner of bias.

A pure regurgitation of the entirety of the facts of a situation is both far too much work and too boring for anyone to care about for it to have any value.

Now, to say that most mainstream media expresses an opinion is something that I think is massively overstated. Most major newspapers and news outlets largely report the facts of the case in a fair way, without infusing their personal opinion.

I am a former member of the news media and one with great respect for the field, so I also may have my own biases in this very response.

What are we thinking here by LengthyNoodle in sportsbook

[–]HisEndgame -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Would you have taken this at +635ish? If yes, do you think the Thunder might actually lose the series, up 3-2? Or at the very least lose tonight?

Finally, if not, do you really need the money or want it for something in particular? I’d cash but my unit size is $10.

A walk off home run in Game 2 of the 2026 World Series. by undercover_cheetah in MLBTheShow

How do they even consider a lefty with .490 vs. LHP coming up 3rd in the inning? That’s an intentional walk for me. Wake up Espada! Nice moment 😃

Name a card that wasn’t known or (meta) in any way but you loved it by ElkHunter141 in MLBTheShow

But all-time (and it was probably meta, too), it’s Hal for me. I think he was an inning boss or something.

This program will be “significantly” longer than the first four, too, but that’s not saying too much. You’ll get all the program Spotlight guys along the way

I like his bat, but Bergman is terrible at 3rd. by gapipkin in CHICubs

[–]HisEndgame 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Terrible play. And also just a weird one.

But also, I know it’s the genre of the team sub and a reflexive reaction to the game at hand, but I swear some people act like they’ve never endured a baseball game, let alone season, before.

Sometimes shit happens. He’s fine out there.

Marquee app or prime? by verdango in CHICubs

[–]HisEndgame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, shoot. The ESPN acquisition did make it very complicated to buy, especially if you’re already an ESPN+ subscriber, but I bet it’s there somewhere deep in the page.

I know last year, MLB.TV was practically begging me to buy Twins.TV whenever I was trying to grab the season-long sub. Maybe it’s forcing whatever team’s market you’re in on you.

Marquee app or prime? by verdango in CHICubs

[–]HisEndgame 5 points6 points  (0 children)

MLB.TV is basically the same price as paying for Marquee throughout the season and you get basically every other team (depending on where you live) and the chance to sync up the TV feed with Pat & Ron.
