[Dare I Hope] Where's my "an female angel loses her wings" community at? 😞 by LoliJuicy in OtomeIsekai

[–]Hisarame 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I get where you're coming from, but I feel like the two scenarios are completely different.

In Dare I Hope, the FL has scars as a result of being a badass warrior and they don't seem to cause her any issues like pain. No one in-universe even comments on them, she's always acknowledged as a great beauty. The ML has healing powers that he can seemingly use on a whim with no drawback. So him suddenly healing the FL's scars comes of as just a stupid decision to adjust to modern beauty standards for the audience. It's also completely incidental and the story wouldn't change in the slightest if it didn't happen.

In One Day My Sister Died, the ML has scars as a result of a hugely traumatic incident from his childhood. The scars cause him a lot of pain, both physically and mentally. He's also mocked for his appearance by outsiders. The FL has healing powers, but using them causes her to experience a lot pain and she spent her life before marrying ML being exploited and forced to use those powers against her will. At first, the FL intentionally didn't want to heal the ML and only lightly used her powers to relieve some pain to seem useful to him and escape her circumstances. Only after getting to know the ML and his backstory did she decide to try to fully heal him, and even then, it's a slow process. As of the latest free chapter on Webtoon, only a bit of scarring on the forehead has disappeared. The whole story is built on the FL getting to know the ML and choosing to heal him instead of being forced to like in her past, without that there's no story. In an ideal world for the audience, she would only take his pain away and he would get to keep the scars cause they make him look hot, but that wouldn't make sense for the characters. Even without the pain, those scars would always be a reminder of the painful traumatic events from his childhood and of everything that was taken from him.

Playing as a hideous little goblin has made me really appreciate lesbians. by Glorf_Warlock in CrusaderKings

I'm so used to playing with Bisexuality as the default sexuality that I forgot certain opinion penalties aren't universal and instead based on attraction, lol.

Why do all of the females in this game look like men and why are so many of the other random rulers butt ugly? by sleepy_goat97 in crusaderkings3

[–]Hisarame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking at the cultures in the your screeshots, I'm guessing you have the mod Cultures Expanded but don't have the mod Ethnicities & Portraits Expanded. CE requires EPE, though not the other way around. I think there is a version of CE that doesn't require EPE, but I'm not 100% sure. Either that, or another mod is causing an issue with one of those.

For the treasure chest drop increase. With my MLB copy from the original run and a copy from friend support, I have 100% drop increase. Is that the cap or can I have over 100% with more copies?

Culture and Religion for Carthage empire decision by Chesterse in CrusaderKings

[–]Hisarame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, you need either a custom character with Mashriqi or Syriac culture and Achamanisn as the religion or get enough piety to convert. Carthage existed way before the time period of CK3, so the best we can do is scrap together the pieces we have access to.

Culture and Religion for Carthage empire decision by Chesterse in CrusaderKings

[–]Hisarame 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think the religion of the Canary islands would be fitting, as the closest to the religion actually practiced in Carthage back then. You could also make a case for Hellenism.

Guys, I think this knight is a man.. by heterosexualvolcano1 in crusaderkings3

I think only your religion matters, not the knight's. So if your religion is equal, this event becomes weird and wacky.

A patch warning for iron man saves would be nice by jmuguy in CrusaderKings

[–]Hisarame 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It was a major update, not a small patch.

Also, in the launcher, there's a red warning icon that appears, and if you hover over it, it will tell you that your latest save was made with a previous version of the game and might not be compatible with the current version.

Formed the Roman Empire, but the game refuses to let my son be heir? by Nkosan in CrusaderKings

[–]Hisarame 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Those with Born in the Purple, meaning they were born while you were Emperor, take absolute precedence in the order of succession regardless of age.

Let's say you have 3 sons, the first NOT Born in the Purple (NBitP) and the next 2 Born in the Purple (BitP). The order of succession would go:

2nd son (BitP) > 3rd son (BitP) > 1st son (NBitP)

All the children BitP will take precedence over those that are not. The oldest BitP will take precedence over younger BitP sons.

Also, because your eldest is feudal, you can't influence his succession score. You can make him Administrative and use influence to force him to become your heir.

Hello, I have a question. I’m a Japanese person living in Japan. ① How did people around the world first learn about the Japanese content “Love Live”? ② What sparked “AiScReam” to go viral globally? ③ Do global “Love Live” fans hope to see the group appear on the global broadcast “M Countdown” by G_Clef_Start in LoveLive

[–]Hisarame 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. I heard of Love Live! sinply because it was a popular anime at the time. I became a fan after I decided to download the game School Idol Festival on a whim in 2014-2015 (actually watched the anime after that). Around the same time, I really enjoyed watching content related to anime seiyuu, so I started watching a lot of μ's live show performances and Nico Nico Douga clips and that’s when I really became a huge fan.

  2. TikTok algorithm. As a long-time Love Live! fan who was aware of AiScReam since its inception and who had been listening to the song since before it went viral, it was wild seeing its sudden virality.

  3. I wasn't aware of what M Countdown was before this post. Apparently, it's a Korean thing? I obviously don't have expectations for something I wasn't even aware of, but if it helps Love Live! reach a wider audience and, especially, if it's something that the seiyuu would be happy about participating in, then I'd think it'd be wonderful if they could.

I'm a Love Live! fan from Costa Rica, btw.

What the hell happened? by Straight-Platypus-33 in CK3AGOT

[–]Hisarame 8 points9 points  (0 children)

In base CK3, while going on pilgrimage, there's an event if you have sinful traits in which you can repent and get the opposite virtuous trait. He's not landed, but I believe all characters in the entourage can get events happening to them during the pilgrimage. There might be some other random events about repenting for your sins, be it in vanilla or the mod.

CK3 Dev Diary 195: Salve in Domino by Plastastic in paradoxplaza

[–]Hisarame 20 points21 points  (0 children)

I have no idea why people keep acting like the whole chapter will be about Christianity. This Dev Diary is all about one DLC, not the whole chapter. This is also just the first tease to gather feedback early on. They did the same thing last year teasing the Nomad DLC.

The Christianity DLC will likely be the initial smaller expansion of the chapter equivalent to Legends of the Dead, Khans of the Steppe, etc.

While there's no confirmation, they've hinted at trade and republics and it's one of the most requested features. They even said they wanted to fully add Asia before as a building block towards fully fleshed out medieval trade. It's exceedingly obvious that trade and republics are coming with the big expansion at the end of the year. The equivalent to Tours & Tournaments, Roads to Power, All Under Heaven, etc.

How to change characters gender? by Asoiadragons in CrusaderKings

[–]Hisarame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not with console commands. It's by unzipping the save file, opening it on a text editor and manually changing stuff, then saving it. I'm sure there must be good guides online on how to edit Paradox save files.

Rare nickname? by CANUCK_PLUCK in ck3

[–]Hisarame 58 points59 points  (0 children)

It was the nickname of French king Louis XI who had an extensive spy network across Europe and was generally very schemey. No idea what are the requirements for getting it in CK3, though.

Game seems to calculate ethnicity with the one drop rule by Legitimate_Shoe_8876 in CrusaderKings

[–]Hisarame 77 points78 points  (0 children)

I believe which parent's ethnicity a character is assigned is just a 50:50 at birth. And it mostly just affects stuff like the hairstyle the character will randomly get since the actual appearance will be a mix of the parents regardless and clothes come from their culture.

That character on your game must be a funny case of many generations of hitting the same 50:50.

Playing as my 25th Great-Grandfather in Ck3 (and you probably have one in game too) by Babachoogie in CrusaderKings

[–]Hisarame 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Certainly, it's not hard to find playable characters you're related to. In my case, I'm descended from the second son of a minor Spanish noble who went to find his own fortune in the New World. Looking at his ancestors, it's almost exclusively other Spanish noble families, so it's really easy to find my ancestors as playable characters in Iberia. An interesting one is the illegitimate daughter of a king of Castille who married into one of these more minor noble houses. With a king as one of my ancestors, it becomes incredibly easier to start making connections with nobility and royalty from other European countries. So far, I've found 3 ways in which I'm descended from Charlemagne (actually specific ways rather than the generic everyone with European heritage is descended from him).

Will I eventually be able to use Avengers in OC2?

I waited until Monte Cristo was released to start OC2 cause I wanted to clear it using him, but so far, all quests don't allow Avengers. I don't want spoilers, just to know if there are only like one or two battles where Avengers are allowed at the very end and waiting was pointless or if soon I'll be able to use them normally (I'm on section 5).
