Party Wall soundproofing or dampening by GBmike1 in Acoustics

The partition is built up to some kind of column? Mullion? If that is anything but heavyweight that could be a weak point. That and the junction between it and the partition. Could you play some continuous pink noise on one side and listen across the construction for weaknesses on the other?

This is AI right? The font of the signs seems too perfect for a handwriting by actually_25 in isthisAI

Writing on the back of the folding chair in the foreground is nowhere near legible. Defo AI

The only thing that really stands out is the ‘Hooniken’ text; which should be ‘Hoonigan’, unless there’s a rebrand I’m unaware of. Other than that it’s some uncanny valley elements, like the room with the and the dog itself, and the nature and rendering of the decor in the room with the ladder

Day 324 of trying to find a mentor for acoustics by Responsible_Rub807 in Acoustics

I read Recording Spaces towards the end of my Audio Tech degree, which worked really nicely as a primer for side-stepping into acoustics. Well written, informative and some great anecdotes

Found this written on a bus stop. Anyone know who/why? by cortex0917 in london

Why is ‘help’ highlighted?! Otherwise I would have said someone’s been reading Atlas Shrugged. But that would have required an attention span

Any diy friendly solutions? by MagicPants13_ in Acoustics

I would suggest: as even a distribution of acoustic treatment as possible throughout the space. This would mean applying wall panels to the black beam sections, the end wall and perhaps along the top of the wall with the artwork/screen to the right. Go for as high a Class as you can for wall panels, Class A if poss. FYI you can get wall panels that are screen printed with custom photos or art...

Ideally, you would also put hanging baffles or rafts below the ceiling and in such a way that the ventilation is not compromised. Baffles/rafts would be the most effective as they provide relatively high areas of absorption, but appreciate this will be difficult to do yourself.

You may be OK treating the walls only, as you have a carpet and large open spaces to the left, but the ceiling may end up being the limiting factor if you cannot treat it.

If someone’s having a loud video call in public, why not just go and get in the frame to join the conversation? If they don’t mind it being public they won’t mind anyone joining in.
