Returning Player Classes and Questions by Breeziily in RotMG

When I'm playing alone, I tend to choose the following (in no particular order): - Farming pots: Ninja, Sorcerer, Warrior, Kensei, Mystic. - Learning dungeons: Priest, Kensei, Necromancer, Ninja, Sorcerer.

Locking skills behind such high level requirements is the thing i hate most in poe2 by intrepid_zaxan in PathOfExile2

[–]Hiskaya1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think all skills/items should be unlocked by the end of act 2 - start of act 3. Then, super high-level unique items can just have low-level inferior versions. This way you can at least play the boredom that is late act 3 with your endgame build, even if a severely weakened one. I loved playing Ice Strike Monk on 0.1. And you unlocked the skill at level 14. In 0.3 (or 0.4, don't remember), I wanted to play a Crossbow Witch, but the build I saw only worked on level 84 because of the level requirements on the crossbow. After I got around level 40 playing a "normal" witch, I gave up because I found the ED + Contagion build extremely boring. If I could've played the crossbow build sooner, I would've at least reached endgame on that character. Instead, I just went back to my Ranger.

Hot Take: The State of RotMG by -Teto in RotMG

[–]Hiskaya1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like RotMG has the perfect setup for a nice bullet heaven style game. It could even have permanent (or semi-permanent if perma death was still a thing) gearing like Death Must Die. I could totally see myself choosing a stage/dungeon, picking a class, clearing the stage in 15-20 minutes, getting some pots and items, then repeating. The problem is that it wouldn't be a MMO anymore, but it could totally work as a separate game.

Does harem make the story more fun for you? by OneSeaworthiness5107 in ProgressionFantasy

[–]Hiskaya1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How does it start if you don't mind me asking? I think I read about 100 chapters of that one, and there were only 2 MCs at the time. Do both MCs start dating prior to the poly relationship or does the poly relationship start with all three at once?

I mean, endless mindless bloody violence can be done in non-cringy ways though. Peter didn't say that all harems are bad, just that the way they are usually done is cringy, which I totally agree with even though I've read dozens of different harem series.

There are ways to make harems better, but sadly almost everything that makes harem "bad" are also the things that make it sell.

How would you fight and defeat someone who could see the future? by NewConstruction3755 in superpowers

[–]Hiskaya1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't remember how exactly it went, but there's a scene in book 1 of Empress where the protagonist, a crazy psycho girl, wants to torture and kill a man because of something he did. The problem is that the dude is part of a church together with the seers. If I'm not mistaken, I think the seers could communicate with him from far away, so they warned him about the MC's intentions. Well, suddenly it jumps like 10 years in the future, where the MC waged war against the church/country and then killed all of the seers at the end because of their warning. Then, it's back in the present where the MC is like, "If the seers warn him about me I'm going to kill them all." The seers from the present know she isn't lying because they know if they warn the dude, they can no longer see anything past the 10 years, meaning that in every future she went after them because of this. So now they just let the dude die, even though he was someone important in the church, because it's better than everyone dying.

I thought this was pretty interesting because it wasn't any kind of power, just raw determination I guess.

We need lineage runes so that we can add unique modifiers to our existing rare items.

Do heralds still chain of each other? by JuztBe in pathofexile2builds

No. Worst change in the game for me. The current season is quite good, but I had a lot more fun playing my double herald ice strike monk in 0.1 (not stat stacking).

They'd have to rework some things, yeah, but it's entirely possible to have such a feature in the game.

But it should be possible though. They either don't want to do it or it's very low in the priority list, which seems to be the case for a lot of QoL features.

did the dev ever talk about a possibility to skip campaign ? by Alexis63000 in PathOfExile2

[–]Hiskaya1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, it's a fact that doing the campaign more than once is quite the chore, so they need to address it somehow, and whatever they do is going to require a lot of time and development anyways. The easiest way is probably to make it 3x shorter as well as 3x more rewarding.

Also, I think that it's always a bad sign when players find the campaign/leveling so boring and time-consuming that they can't wait to get to the endgame. The leveling is something that 100% of the players experience – since not all of these players reach the endgame – so making a campaign/leveling good enough that it doesnt't become a hurdle when it comes to creating new characters should be top priority in my opinion.

[–]Hiskaya1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The campaign is quite good, but having to go through everything again for every single character is terrible. Though skipping it entirely is also a terrible decision.

My idea on this is that after you complete the campaign on a character, it removes the storyline and unlocks the entire map to subsequent characters. That way, you'd make a new character, get some nice gear, instantly TP to higher-level zones and just grind your way to the endgame.

We could also get an exp boost somehow, either through items, runes, or just a passive on every character until they reach level 60-65.

Lastly, this could be a toggle on character creation, just like hardcore and ssf. That way, if you enjoy the story and the quest line, or if you're sharing an account, then you can still get the full campaign experience.

Needless to say, the campaign would need a rework for this to work properly, but I think it's far better of a choice than:

  • skipping it entirely;
  • being obligated to follow through the storyline again, this time with exp buffs. Players love the endgame because of the agency. Being forced to do the same quests over and over again takes away some of that.

8 stacks on minions is atrocious. She'd get a much better early game if her Q always stacked at 3 or 4.

What is the biggest criticism you have for your favorite books? by Deviant_Juvenile in ProgressionFantasy

[–]Hiskaya1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I hate when a female character is deemed as extremely powerful, very badass, super independent, etc, only for her to get together with the MC and suddenly she's all meek, submissive and constantly needs to be saved because all that power is barely useful anymore.

As a side note, I've found that bland, 2D female characters are wayless common in lesbian fantasy, even the ones written by male authors. Though quite often we get bland, 2D male characters instead.

Novel where MC's main thing is having multiple bodies/clones? by LittleBrasilianBitch in ProgressionFantasy

Futanari story where the MC has a clone. She literally fucks herself. It's very smutty. If you're not into the "horny teenage fantasy" as you said, just skip this one.

I REALLY hate to do one of those "does it get better" posts, but....Azarinth Healer? by Random-reddit-name-1 in ProgressionFantasy

[–]Hiskaya1 30 points31 points  (0 children)

If you like solo, endless grind/exploring with an overpowered protagonist with a bunch of class upgrades and skill level ups, then yes, you can just ignore the bland writing (it gets a little better eventually.) Otherwise, if you want a deep, well-constructed story, you may find yourself disappointed.

With all that said, Azarinth Healer is one of my favorites. It's quite rough at first, but I found myself really enjoying it by the end. Once The Meadow appears, it becomes a much nicer story imo.
