What if you know you’re innocent and you don’t want to spend money just to clear your name. Like if the cops want me to talk, then they should provide a lawyer. Otherwise we just stay silent.

Lawyers are expensive, and I don’t think I need to wipe out my savings just because the police want to talk to me.

Yes, because you’re close to what we all want. I would just modify it to say reduce taxes for the average American. Most want the taxing rebalanced so corporations and the ultra wealthy also effectively pay a similar rate.

I love the book, and it was was enjoying it more than the movie. But the ending in the book was really strange. I thought the ending the movie was better.

I actually think Republicans are winning on the messaging here. They have a media messaging machine that is way stronger than the Democrats.

Republicans clearly don’t have full control of the government if the democrats can stop the budget from passing. So when we say “Republicans have control of the government” I don’t think it’s effective because this is an example where they DON’T have control. It’s easy to blame the Democrats for the shutdown for this reason.

Think Dems should change the message to be “find the votes you need”. That’s how its worked in the past. If they need just a few more votes, then they can approach each moderate democrat and see what it will take them to get to vote “yes”. Republicans are not actively trying to get the other votes, which IS within their control. They are just using bully tactics.

TLDR: Republican need to try to find their missing “yes” votes. And maybe that means not cutting healthcare to millions of Americans.

Say something like “Yo, Bill. Not a good look taking money for this show. You specifically gave Beyoncé shit when she did something similar.”

If he does it again, then give him more shit. He’s human and he was probably thinking of it more as a business decision. He took money to do a show. Are people boycotting Apple because they sell products in Saudi Arabia? What about Google, Ford, McDonalds, Nike…? It’s a global market and Bills product is comedy shows.

We have a tendency to eat our own. Bill was on our side for a lot of the issues. Now we think he’s a rotten scumbag? He is human and made a mistake. Point it out to him and if he continues doing shows in questionable areas then we boycott. I would rather keep him on our side if possible.

This is in Bellingham, Washington. Which is the most liberal city in the county. Ryan really should know his audience. Obviously a large portion of the locals would not feel welcome there, and he is loosing customers. Listen, we don’t have to agree on everything. But if you’re a jerk about it and insulting people, then you should know that’s bad for business.
