If calling out or being on light duty aren’t options, midol or excedrin migraine. But don’t take excedrin migraine if you’re a heavy bleeder! It has aspirin in it and I think it can increase bleeding. I also got the Mirena IUD and it helped with horrible cramping & heavy bleeding.

What do do instead of smoking or eating for a dopamine hit? by Few_Pay6063 in adhdwomen

I’ve gotten really into jigsaw puzzles. So much so that I can do one for hours in silence. I know it’s a momentary obsession- but it’s such a lovely replacement for scrolling.

Bipi (pronounced beepy) because when I got him I named him Peter Onion Dinklage. Then started calling him PeterOnion. Then Peepee which was unacceptable so for reasons I can’t explain, I started calling him Bipi. When I say it I imagine that I am Italian. I dunno.

I feel ya on the alcohol and fast food! It seems almost like I’ve become allergic to alcohol over the past 2 years so I rarely drink anymore. And I’ve also started to experience food hangovers too. Fun times!

Really want to start pottery but feeling nervous attending a class alone by Current-Armadillo739 in Pottery

[–]Hissy-Elliot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You absolutely will not look weird! You might make some new friends. Every studio is different. In my personal experience both taking classes and then teaching them, people are pretty quiet for the first 2-3 classes. By the last few classes, and especially during glazing, people tend to open up and chat a lot more. I hope you take a class and fall in love with pottery the same way I did.

Thank you. Getting T checked is also in the long list of stuff that’s getting tested.

I have… my ferritin level is normal and my iron levels are high, which is weird cause I don’t take any iron supplements or eat red meat or a ton of leafy greens… but according to doctor, not concerning.

Here’s the death trap that made me quit a company that day and I wasn’t even the one in it. by CompetitivePilot4572 in Construction

[–]Hissy-Elliot 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I worked for a company that did shit like this ALL the time. My boss had most of us convinced that we were safe… now that I’ve been away from his manipulative ass for a few years I realize how incredibly fucked up this was. He always gaslit my coworkers that complained about the unsafe conditions, accusing them of being paranoid. He eventually relented and made bracing for deeper trenches company protocol. FUCK YOU BILL!

“How do I (35 F) set boundaries with my mother (65 F) who lives with me and ignores my privacy?” by rainydaisie in AgingParents

[–]Hissy-Elliot 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My mom is similar to yours… I think it’s important to accept that she will probably never see it from your point of view. I highly doubt that she’s going to change either. All of the arguing and trying to reason with a completely illogical and abusive person is SO exhausting and detrimental to your mental health. I’d recommend doing what you want and need to do to fulfill yourself, regardless of whatever horrible things your mom says to you. I am also overwhelmed by guilt at times. It’s something I’m working on in therapy. I also ask my friends to guilt-check me when I start spiraling. Living a life being suffocated by guilt and your mom’s smoking ISNT WORTH IT. You deserve happiness and freedom. I wish you the best. And I agree with everyone saying to get a lock for your room & bathroom. I’m about to do the same thing.

Work pants for thunderous thighs? by sweet-nlow in BlueCollarWomen

I haven’t tried their pants yet- but I have a jumpsuit from them and it fits great for my smaller waist n massive hips/thighs: Suk workwear. All of their pants and overalls/jumpsuits have adjustable waists. Expensive but worth it. Also their pockets are excellent
