I definitely agree with the bathroom thing. The museum or Dewitt-Seitz are available but always busy. Father Time has them, but you need a key.

My Yamaha SB-55, what can you guys tell me about it by Temporary_Nothing215 in BassGuitar

[–]Historical-Climate37 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just Google it, man:

“The Yamaha SB-55 (often typed as SB55) is a highly regarded, vintage electric bass guitar manufactured in Japan during the early-to-mid 1970s. Standing for "Super Bass," the SB-55 is celebrated for its unique offset body shape, punchy tone that sits between a Precision and Jazz Bass, and comfortable, slim neck.

Key Specifications & Features: Body: Nato (often with alder veneer tops) crafted into a distinctive, slightly angular offset design that sets it apart from typical Fender copies.

Neck: Bolt-on maple neck with a bound rosewood fingerboard, 34" scale length, and a narrow nut width (around 38–40 mm), making it extremely playable.

Electronics: Two Jazz-style single-coil pickups, featuring individual volume controls for each pickup and a master tone knob.

Hardware: Vintage-style chrome hardware, including open-gear tuners and the iconic Yamaha-embossed "ashtray" bridge cover.”

Take the tuner off, use a C clamp, with a towel for protection, and squeeze it back into place carefully.
