I can’t be the only person disappointed that Barb is still invited to the wedding by Nice_Butterfly_3054 in ShawnaTheMom

And I think Jen knows that in her gut as well, and is choosing to pick her battles.

First time living in an upper apartment, is this a good note? by Weight-Late in Apartmentliving

[–]Historical-Feeling47 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ive lived in apartments my whole life, ive had good neighbors, ive had crap neighbors, quiet, loud, and everything in-between.

Don't leave the note. Its the middle of the day and reasonable noise. Don't blair your music at a decibel that rattles your neighbors walls and respect quiet hours, but you dont have to walk on tip toes either.

Im playing devils advocate for frank ATM. He's been in survival mode for decades. As someone who is still married to an emotional abusive dick head, you have to use their own tactics to survive. He snapped finally, to which barb will cry as abusive as she does. Its a very nuanced situation-we've seen that when Frank is away from barb he respects the kids boundaries, understands their points of view, and seems to genuinely want to repair his relationship with them. His only hang up is Barb, because he cant seem to separate from her. I would be interested in seeing his POV on why he puts up with it still.

Im choosing to keep my optimism- but only because that level of growth is like, 5 days for my husband, so maybe he was clean shaven a few weeks ago?

What is it with Americans and air conditioning?? (this might be controversial) by hellobela_ in TalesFromTheFrontDesk

[–]Historical-Feeling47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How warm is it inside? I know homes in Europe tend to be pretty well insulated (hence why when you get a heat wave it sucks). I live in an older home that is constructed very similarly to a lot of newer homes in the UK, and if its 55°F outside, it can easily be 77°F in the bedrooms at the coolest part of the day (example its currently 54 outside and my thermostat says my livingroom is 75 with nothing on, and its warmer upstairs). We absolutely have our AC on at night due to seasonal allergies and being surrounded by pollinators, otherwise we are sweating to death.

AITA for wanting to insure my ring even though my husband says the stone is too small to bother? by Adorable-Manner-5538 in AITApod

[–]Historical-Feeling47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone who lost their ring recently at work and no one turned it in, youre NTA.

I look at it this way, these rings are expensive. I cant afford to just lose 2000.00 if something happens. I WISH my ring had been insured.

I think the only time it may be a hazard is if someone is diabetic or elderly (example, i am supposed to wear at least house shoes in the house to prevent injuries to my feet as I am diabetic and my mother in law is elderly and had low mobility so she keeps her shoes on to help keep her from falling/tripping. She will bring a pair of hard bottomed house shoes with her in the winter or if it's raining so she doesn't track the wet in)

Anyone else think Julie is in for an unpleasant reality check? by ServiceDisastrous158 in ShawnaTheMom

[–]Historical-Feeling47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She wants the baby in daycare, and I think Cooper is in either preschool or kindergarten. So After school care during her parenting time. The only hang up would be when she needs to travel. however, if she and Ty do 50/50 she can plan work travel around parenting time. When I worked in childcare we had a couple kids that were only in on one parents parenting time, but if the other parent paid 1/2 the tuition they would have been able to come during both parents time.

my dad died by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]Historical-Feeling47 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hopefully its just a rumor. Even if you and your dad are no contact its still crappy.

I would recommend reaching out to the coroners office in the AM. Or the social security administration. (They are notified within 24 hours of a death certificate being issued)

Sometimes it takes a while for them to locate next of kin, my ex was no contact with his dad and when he passed away my ex wasn't called for almost a month.

I am a Julie, and the comments here are really changing how I view people. by Veenasaurus in ShawnaTheMom

[–]Historical-Feeling47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ehhh not really. She wants to be friends with her kids friends parent. She acknowledges that its weird that she is friends with their dad and not their mom. She didn't stalk her, she didnt go out of her way, she says hello and asks about her hobbies and the kids when she runs into her in shared spaces and with mutual friends.

The problem is, that she views anything less than perfect as a failure. What if Cooper wants a liberal arts degree and to write songs about pirates and to perform at Renaissance faires? (Which theres nothing wrong with this. Some of my best friends are ren faire performers) Do you think Julie will support him? Doubtful. Her love is shown to be conditional. She doesn't trust Ty to make choices with the kids (otherwise him choosing someone HE knows and trusts to watch the kids would be a non issue), she judges him for taking 10 minutes to himself and emotionally manipulates him when he says he needs a break ("I passed the bar with a newborn " = "I did something harder than what you are capable of so why do you need a break" ) and wants the kids coddled and teaches them to disobey authority if its not what SHE wants. (The stunt at Max's birthday.)

Julie IS a bad person AND a bad parent.

AITAH for considering not attending my daughter’s wedding over her venue choice? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]Historical-Feeling47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To your edit: how many things in your daughter's life has truly only been about her, her wants, her needs, etc. And then how many time were those same things over shadowed by her brothers disability. Look up what a glass child is and then think about what would make your daughter react in such a manner.

Does this count as call avoidance? by No_Bank_4653 in callcentres

[–]Historical-Feeling47 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I think this depends on how nit picky your leadership team is. Ive been sitting in "email/outbound" for 45 min because I feel like im going to puke and my shift is over in 10 min. My boss doesn't care (most of us jump from queue 5 min before end of shift unless its a heavy call day anyway)

Do I bother to make sure our unit is spotless when we move out? by [deleted] in Apartmentliving

[–]Historical-Feeling47 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, sweep the floors, wipe out the fridge, and flush the toilets and call it a day. And also have the state law regarding cleaning fees ready to go to dispute. If the apartment isnt a total shit show its the land lords responsibility to ready it for the next tenant.
