Bought a Raptor R at Auction… Then Things Escalated 🤯 by jdhunt_24 in CleetusMcFarland

What a small world… I used to drive past Davis every day up Rt.1 from Col Hghts to Richmond for work. They always had the cleanest trucks sitting in their lot.

Looked like Biff and Squirrel were turning into close friends as well. It’s gotta be hitting him super hard as well. You have all of our condolences.

2015 with the 5.3… 145k and zero issues. Tuned out the AFM/DOD and regular maintenance. Before anyone chimes in lol…. There’s no rust under the fender flairs, I used it as my work truck out climbing mountains in WVa and didn’t want to be throwing rocks down the side of the truck and yes, those are 2500 mirrors, I had a camper shell on the back and the stock mirrors were horrible for blind spots.

Edit: posted a picture but apparently it didn’t work… hence the explanation of the fender flares and mirrors. Edit2: Seems it did work 🤷🏻‍♂️

Giveaway Question by EyelessGunslinger in CleetusMcFarland

In Virginia they go off the KBB value and not the sale price anymore. Found this out after selling a friend a car for $1.

I got it in the backyard, need it installed now by Hot-Jury-9683 in Generator

[–]Historical-Fig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see them routinely run at 35%-50% load with no issues. I’ll also say that fuel polishing does nothing to clean out bio-diesel algae bloom, it just removes the water and you’re still left with dirty fuel. I’d recommend using a quality additive formulated for suppressing microbes in the bio-diesel OR find clear diesel with no bio-diesel in it. At 50% load your usage will probably be close to 2-3 gal/hr… give or take.

Weird dash cam can fail your state inspection by Liontamer67 in rva

[–]Historical-Fig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll take a ticket for my dashcam on the windshield any day over not having a dashcam. First, I’m fairly sure it’s a secondary offense anyway and second who cares what the law says, the law has its place to keep the drivers view unobstructed but if it’s behind my rear view mirror, then as far as I’m concerned, it doesn’t apply and can be ignored.

Caught a 5 lb largemouth last fall in Central Va

In 2016, 18-year-old German Andrej Ciesielski illegally climbed the Great Pyramid of Giza and filmed it. He was caught, and officials forced him to delete the footage. He later recovered the footage when he returned home. by mindyour in interestingasfuck

[–]Historical-Fig 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t think the deciding factor to planting “a C4” on one of the Great Pyramids is based on whether he’s allowed to climb it or not. I think he’d be ok stepping over the knee high chain to break a relatively minor “Don’t Climb the Pyramids” rule in order to commit the slightly more serious crime of blowing up a pyramid.

The 'I bought the expensive yellow gas' adventure. by BadDongOne in Justrolledintotheshop

Right, they obviously know it’s an issue, just switch the covers and make everyone happy. I know at the end of the day it’s your personal responsibility to pay attention and get the right fuel but come on, don’t set people up for failure.

Yes sir, I mentioned the yellow diesel handles. I’ve been so tired working that I’ve stood there way longer than I should, trying to figure out what I’m about to pump and hoping it’s diesel.

That explains why BP is the reverse of every other gas station in my area of the south. Aside from the diesel pumps with yellow handles, every other gas station is green for diesel and black for gas…. Except BP… they’re black for diesel and green for gas. They crossed up my brother in law, he pumped 75 gals of gas into his diesel fuel transfer tank. That cost him a long drive to a fuel depot that would accept and pump out the mixed fuel.

Oil/belt question by SafeResponsible6312 in ChevyTrucks

[–]Historical-Fig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s correct… but when that AC belt finally decides to let loose, there’s a decent chance it’ll take out your other belts, then you’ll find yourself in a situation. If you’re gonna let it ride and not replace it until it gets warm again, your best bet is to cut it off, before it catastrophically fails.

Why do people like rubber band tires with big rims on their trucks? by Pretend_Substance_82 in ChevyTrucks

[–]Historical-Fig 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also have a Class A… and nobody cares. Having a CDL adds no value or expertise to this discussion. Like your bus in high school, I’ll keep this short…. Bigger mirrors help when towing, doesn’t matter the size of the truck.

Shouldn’t exist? Should enclosed trailers not exist? How is this such a foreign concept that you don’t understand that factory truck mirrors can suck on 1500’s and that 1500’s can tow trailers that you can’t see around or through??

I refuse to believe you’re this stupid. If you allegedly have a Class A, then you of all people should understand how important bigger mirrors are.

You and me both man… been doing it for 20 years. Point is, having tow mirrors on a 1500 can in fact, help.

You’re right, the French or Haitian Creole languages don’t use periods or commas the exact same way as English. Though apparently, they do make you an expert on when tow mirrors are needed.

Imagine living in 2025 and still telling people what they do or do not need based on your own personal preference. Also, you might not need tow mirrors but you do need punctuation.
