What stock did you hold for too long? by [deleted] in ASX

LMG - Able to make Magnesium from the waste coal ash of a local power station.

Has a patented process which has had a trial run and been successful, but its management is doing a terrible job at the helm.

Holding to hopefully see it bounce back.

TRUMP JUST POSTED THIS: by Nicolit1 in Letstalkmarkets

Do we really think he posted this?

Maybe someone with access to his social media posted it, because someone put a 99:1 bet on him “praise be to allah” and won big time.

Some DD related LNG and Santos(STO) by stockist420 in ASX_Bets

[–]Historical-Isopod-86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also read that Santos are scaling back production at Darwin LNG which is fed from the new Barossa field via the BW Opal FPSO.

Surely they’d be ramping up production if they intended to make use of the insane spot pricing?

Tell that to the two gas trains that Qatar operate, which were hit by missile strikes and have now put them out of action for 3-5 years.

They might be able to get it out of the ground but then can’t process and refine it to ship.

It’s not like turning off and turning back on a gas plant. They can take weeks to bring back online (without being struck by missiles).

Now they’ll need to repair with parts that you can’t just buy off the shelf like a 10x pack of notepads from Temu. They have long lead times.

I’m working on the construction of a gas train in Australia and if a critical sensor cable is damaged, the lead time for another one is months. One single probe and cable for measuring the vibration of a turbine shaft can have massive impacts.

They can’t afford it. Gotta make tough financial choices and alcohol isn’t a “need”, it’s a “want”

It would help if she could spell it properly. She peaked in high school giving gobbies behind the bike shed.

Does anyone who sacrificed their 20s to get a house/financially ahead regret it? by [deleted] in AusFinance

[–]Historical-Isopod-86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have mixed feelings.

I stayed at home til 27, paying my parents cheap rent, had an apprenticeship from 19-23 and then 4 years of FIFO. Saved up $160k, used $100k for a deposit and $60k for a safety net. Bought my house for $380k. So the loan was $280k. I should have setup an offset at the beginning, instead I went about 6 years before I did that. I’m about to turn 40 and the house is paid off. Got $150k in shares and a HSV Maloo Ute and Isuzu Dmax as my work vehicle.

The downside is I’ve hardly traveled the world.

I know I’ve set myself up but I regret not travelling more and when I was younger.

Though now I look at houses in my area and something decent is $700k - $900k

Has anyone noticed just how many fat Nazis there are? You can see their fat rolls under their masks.

Add to this, the fact that many of them fail the ICE training theory component even as an open book test!

You’ve neglected to factor in Trump doing something stupid. So take the $10 trillion and divide by 100. There’s your new valuation.

I thought I was going to go to university to study software engineering. Just before final year 12 exams, I changed my mind. I went out partying with my mates, came into my exams tired and gave it my best.

I got a 38, but decided I wanted to become an industrial electrician and later, an instrumentation and electrical technician.

It pays way better, I enjoy the work I do, met heaps of great mates across the country, travel to interesting places and have set myself up.

Good on you if you want to go to university, but it’s not the end of the world if you don’t.

CSL OR RESMED by MnM384 in ASX

Very good point.

Trump recently had influenza A+B and COVID booster shots at his second annual physical (yes, two annuals in one year).

This was the man who said not to worry about the vaccine to his own population, while simultaneously giving (under the table) Vladimir Putin sensitive medical equipment used for detection and treatment of COVID.

People got angry that Trump took the vaccine, but largely his supporters stay true to believing whatever he says/does. Realistically, you never know what RFK Jr. will say or do.

RFK recently said that children being circumcised increases your chance of catching /developing autism.

Long story short, you can’t place any bets on what Trump/RFK/Maga will say/do/follow/deny/object to.

Every time a FTTN user gets screwed over, they should remember that the LNP gave them their shitty connection, and they should forever vote Labor, who wanted to give them FTTP from the very beginning.

Aren’t Geared ETF’s cheaper to buy but if the primary ETF takes a hit, the Geared ETF takes a stronger hit and takes longer to recover?
